Younger people love the black/red Sabres jersey. Us old-timers love the royal blue and gold and anything else is (correctly) an abomination. Changing from blue/gold to red/black was stupid to begin with. It's like the Yankees or Red Sox changing color schemes.

Think deeper than that. You're talking about paying Eichel, Dahlin, Laine, and Skinner in the area of $40m. It's a one dimensional group. Can you really win with that?

Saying we have 48m in space is disingenuous. We have 43m, with only 8 players signed. With even modest projections for our RFA's, and filling the roster out with packing peanuts, that number shrinks fast. Add Laine and it shrinks even more. This team already has very real long term cap issues to consider.

Yeah, the Bills just have a dumb name, I agree. The city is more important than the team name in both cases though. Think of our chants; it's not "let's go sabres," it's "let's go Buffalo."

Yeah but, Let's go Buffalo chant just flows and sounds so much better than any alternative. Name could've been the Bulls. Too late now, but at the time could've been theirs, I imagine. The charging Buffalo logo is (imo, by far) the best in the NFL, even if they do have the worst name. The worst part about it is buffalo Bill got the nickname cuz he shot more buffalo than anyone else.

I got the idea of the New Jersey’s when opening the new arena and what not. But to me it didn’t work. When you have one of the better jerseys in the nhl why change it?

My problem now is trying to build a sabres memorabilia area in my house. Blue and gold clashes with red and black. It makes it hard to display autographed jerseys or photos. And Hasek became the superstar during the black and red era. Can’t have a Hasek photo beside a Perrault or a Briere.

I meant "the worst" as in it really kind of sucks, not as in an actual ranking of crappy names like the Browns, especially when you consider why the name buffalo bill even exists. Just saying they could've done better. At least we have great slogan in, The Bills are due!

Passing. Skating. Defense zone are all not great.

He can just shoot. That’s that.

They made World Series'. They had Babe Ruth. When you think of baseball's most historic franchises, you think Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs. When you think of hockey's most historic franchises, Buffalo isn't anywhere near the top of the list.
