Yeah, the Bills just have a dumb name, I agree. The city is more important than the team name in both cases though. Think of our chants; it's not "let's go sabres," it's "let's go Buffalo."
I'm probably just dumb, but what's the one letter off from a better name? - jcragcrumple

He’s only 21 and already has 110 goals in 3 years and if jack can help skinner hit 40 think what he could do for the second best score in the game - gerbe75pts
We already got Jack his scoring winger
A huge liability defensively is exactly what Eichel doesn’t need |

We really going to be criticizing the second best score in the NHL ? He’s going to take the Crown away from Ovechkin soon and he will be the top dog for the next six years
If Kovalchuk can learn how to improve his 2 way game I have no doubt Patrick Laine can do that too |

Scoring goals wins games that’s all I care about let the 2 way forwards handle that poop
Laine Is a stud - gerbe75pts
Laine is extremely one dimensional. That’s the problem
Yes the Sabres need to score more goals. But at what cost?
The Sabres lock up skinner and laine for 20 mill
So 2. One dimensional players making a total of 20 mill a year.
That’s not good cap management |

I’m still waiting for one person to tell me what he does well besides his shot
Ovechkin can fly, is a horse on skates, will hit you into oblivion, can actually skate with the puck on his stick, and drives offense.
Laine is not Ovechkin |

You make it sound like Laine = Olofsson. Laine is doing some other things well enough, even if you can't put your finger on it. |

They made World Series'. They had Babe Ruth. When you think of baseball's most historic franchises, you think Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs. When you think of hockey's most historic franchises, Buffalo isn't anywhere near the top of the list. - buffalofan19
I'd add St Louis Cardinals, with their success and the list of HOF players through the years, onto that list. While the Cubbies and Red Sox are indeed historic baseball franchises, they were always the historically "cursed" losers. |

Yeah i’ll disagree I don’t see Matthews winning a rocket trophy
And if Patrick Laine didn’t have that fluke no goal streak he probably have 50 this year |

You act like he can’t improve his D game ? I remember Kovalchuk was dog poop on D and everyone said He wouldn’t work out New Jersey Because of the defensive system but he learned at what age ? |

Not really though. That’s the problem.
I have no reason to not want Laine on this team other than the fact that he’s gotten worse the two years following his rookie year.
And this year he was legit bad all around |

Patrick Laine Had 20 goals in November and had A weird fluke after he probably would of won the rocket
Who would you take Matthews or Patrick Laine from the circle to score the winner ? |

So the goalposts have moved to a November game on the PP in the circle.

So is patty kane, Steve stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, there were a lot of posters on here mad as balls that we gave Skinner a “one dementional” winger a 9 million dollar contract. Now we are clamouring to not only give up the assets to get Laine but also turn around and most likely hand him the same contract we just gave Jeff, only Laine is probably more one dementional than Skinner.
If he’s not scoring he’s a liability on the ice, we don’t need more of that. |

And Skinner is a lot better in other areas than Laine.
I honestly wouldn’t call Skinner one dimensional.
He’s feisty, creates a ton of turnovers and penalties and no matter who he’s played with his team is better with him on the ice |

I've got plenty of reasons to not want Laine on this team, but the idea that he does nothing better than Olofsson is a bridge too far.

If you have to define it as “he does things you just can’t put your finger on”, then that’s more than enough justification to call him extremely over rated |

I just wish Skinner had a bit more playmaking ability. At the end of the day 63 points is 63 points, whether you put a larger emphasis on goals over assists or not. |
