With even modest projections for our RFA's, and filling the roster out with packing peanuts, that number shrinks fast. Add Laine and it shrinks even more. This team already has very real long term cap issues to consider.

The Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers are close to completing a trade that would see Milan Lucic and James Neal swapping sides in the Battle of Alberta.

According to Sportsnet’s Eric Francis, the Oilers would include a conditional draft pick and retain some of Lucic’s salary when the deal is completed.
