How about trade D Casey Nelson and a draft pick to the Las Vegas Golden Knights for C Cody Eakins? He played on their 3rd line but still managed 41 points. Seems to stay healthy, his Faceoff win % was 50.96%. He's an UFA at the end of the season who's been rumored to be on the block, seems like a good fit here to give Casey Mittlestadt another year to learn. This way we can keep Ristolainen who does catch flack for his play, some of it deservedly so but not all, I like him as a 2nd pairing guy. Also if Jokiharju was good enough to play with a future HOF in Duncan Keith why is he going to sit back and develop? We should pair him with Dahlin and let them grow together and if he regresses then send him down.

Also, speculation here is that the Sabres planned to celebrate the 50th season next year, at the start of the actual 50th season, as was previously announced, but the threat of a lockout next summer forced their hand and they rushed a lot of the designs and production to be out by the start of this season, which is also why our special 50th season uniforms are going to be very minimal in design, they had one less year than originally planned to finalize and refine it.

Expect a complete commitment to Royal Blue at the start of the 2020 season, if the Pegulas have any brain cells left between them.

We are still going to wear those hideous navy blues this year as our regulars but don't expect the 50th uni to be anything other than an eye-rape in visual form that gives you nightmares. Imagine the Maple Leafs all-white Stadium Series unis but make them gold where it was blue and monochrome on top of it.... Like, if the Golden Knights made their white uniforms any uglier, they'd be our 50ths. They will be absolutely gross.
