Lucic wins for escaping Edmonton
- Njuice

Yeah now he gets to go play in the Saddledump. Bring your pail Luc, there has been a lot of rain this year. I hear Iginla had to call Luc and convince him to wave to go to Calgs. Shows what he thinks of the city too like the rest of the world. Flaming garbage. Kadri was pretty stoked to go there too

Tanner you are a chump sir. Only a moron like yourself would think this makes the oilers a worse team. Lucic practically brought down every line he’s played with over the last two seasons. Get your head out of the sand, easily the worst blogger I’ve ever read. It’s like your mission in life is to troll the oilers 😂.

Lucic, at least....ranked 7th in the league in hits.

Umm, you realize hitting means the other team has possession while you’re on the ice...you know this, right?

If this trade were reversed, everyone would ridicule EDM for voluntarily paying a bottom-6 (3?) forward $5M+. Calgary already has Lucic slotted for a bottom 6 role and somehow this is a win for the Flames. I have to say, a few fights and hits cost A LOT less than that in the NHL. A bigger win would have been to get an unconditional 2nd or 3rd rounder for Neal, accept the loss, and sign Maroon for $1M for a year or two. It is an absolute flogging that Holland somehow unloaded this contract... on the teams biggest rival no less.

I say this with the utmost respect for Lucic. He is a very intelligent man. He knows the CTE risks of fighting for a living in this league. HE DOESN’T WANT TO FIGHT for a living anymore. Anyone expecting him to fight every time Johnny gets pasted is going to be dissatisfied.

Cordell and Tanner are hits generators on this site...bash most talked about team and instant responses...like most flames fans they comment without reading or doing research...it's called
(s) hits for brains syndrome...but I digress...seems everyone is happy with trade but what I can't understand is why most comments are flames fans bashing Neal even after he is gone...one would think if you are happy you wouldn't beat a dead horse but move on...Neal scores 22 oilers would be ecstatic to hand over a third rounder, esp if it solves our scoring winger issues...so you are happy with lucic hitting and oilers happy with Neal scoring 20-30 goals next year...anymore trades flames want to make with oilers, Holland advised he is available 24/7 365...

we basically hated neal half way through last season. no heart, no effort what so ever. sounds like a perfect oiler to me. even if neal gets 30 goals next year, the fact he couldn't crack our top two lines speaks volumes. it's pretty sad that a player who had zero use for the flames is pegged as your top winger. if you think neal makes you a playoff team you're delusional. big moves by the oilers this year. enjoy the basement dogla

So he doesnt make the top six on the Flames who finished with 107 points (got bounced in round one ) and that means hes worse than Lucic who wasnt good enough to play on the Oilers who finished with 79 points 4th line.

so our 4th/3rd line player makes your top line, you're 4th/3rd line player makes our 3rd/4th line. lots of optimism in Edmonton. the fact is, you guys win this trade strictly based on potential. in saying that, you're team is still poop

Now if Neal scores 30 goals on our top line, that would indicate your top line players are really 3rd/4th line players who couldn't set up a 30 goal scorer...and if lucic is the muscle your team craves then your team must have been a bunch of soft pansies all year as lucic was absolutely useless to the oilers...would also explain another reason why kadri nixed the trade...

so gaudreau- 99 points, monahan - 82 points, lindholm 78 points. you're right, 3rd/4th liners at best. neal was just as useless to us as lucic was to your team. trading for neal, you're expecting a hall. realistically, you got yakupov. kadri did nix the trade. speaking of that, who's the last, decent free agent the oilers acquired? atleast calgary was able to sign your new savior neal. good luck with that

Reg season stats I see, those are good when negotiating new contracts...Tampa had similar stats...couldnt even tell you how many points mcdavid had...don't care...how did the playoffs work out for those soft players you mentioned??? I'm sure kadri's avs could tell you...oh ya last ufa we got was lucic...we were able to dump him off to some morons on frid...ohh my bad...

so the last ufa you signed with a recognizable name was in 2016? sounds like a franchise players want to play for. not to mention you have the best offensive player on the planet. no wonder you're team has been the laughing stock of the league for the last decade. I would suggest rebuilding through the draft but we all see what having 4, 1st overall does for a team.

I like how you bring up playoffs though. I would rather cheer for my team in the playoffs then root for my rivals to lose. I guess that's something Edmonton fans haven't experienced in a while. jealousy does not look good on you.

It was a trade of 2 very bad contracts for guys that needed a change of scenery. Supposition, get over it. We'll see in the fall.

The Coyotes. He also predicted they would make the playoffs for the last two seasons.

He must be around here for entertainment value only.

Pretty simple I think.

If Neal is as bad with the Oilers as he was with the Flames, Calgary wins. Lucic brings more to the table beyond scoring than Neal does.

If Neal bounces back offensively, the Oilers win.

Working against Neal is the fact that he is 31 and was never really as good as people thought he was in the first place. But I think you can also make the case that he just was a bad fit for Calgary and might do better with Edmonton's system and personnel.

Basically I see it as a more or less even trade, with Edmonton taking a greater risk for a greater potential reward. Calgary swapped a guy who played crappily for them last year for someone who will probably be slightly less crappy for them this year. Edmonton takes on a player who actually has a chance of bouncing back and being good, but has a lower floor if he can't find that spark.

Why is Tanner included in this? Guy is such a goofball. I lose braincells just reading his name.

Agreed tenfold. Used to read his blogs for a chuckle, but it has become so far offside and typicsl attempts at hits the past 2 years its not even worth the mouth breathing.

I could make as self absorbing troll job blogs easily too without including fake stats that he makes to sound as the be all end all. But to each and eks all i guess.
