I hear u on the inconsistent but I still think he is only 22, still scores 20 ish already and like I said the effort is clearly there every shift. - niteislander
I know, I'm not crapping on the kid. I've probably defended him a lot more than I've criticized him. I love his effort level and I think the skill is there too.
But I think the team would like to see him be able to put together some more consistent play before they commit to him long term and I wouldn't blame them for that. That's all. |

Beav- given that I think keeping him up that first year was a mistake and should not have been his rookie year. ... they should have sent him down with Barzal. He is a 22 year old kid that has 40 goals in what should have been his first 2 years. He was not exactly a big kid so needed to add size and was learning a VERY different system last year. ... I like the guy and think he will be a very good player. He is young, fast, eager, and clearly coach-able. He has also shown he can score at the NHL level which is not easy.
like I said in the beginning I knew I was fighting the crowd on this opinion, but I think he is going to just keep getting better each year. |

I don't doubt Beau will get better and turn into a dependable NHL player but I think people just disagreed with the contract deal you thought he should/would get.
I like Beau and think he will have a breakout year this year. I think he will get a 1 year maybe 2 year deal at 2.25. Just my opinion of course. |

I actually think I’m in the minority with him. I don’t hate the kid I want nothing more than for him to succeed but I just don’t see it. Hopefully he puts it together. |
