La tite Laine for Domi, it wont happen. The Bin is closed for summer and Bargain is now taking care of Mrs Bargain and training to get bigger arms if that is possible (bigger brain he tried but no success...). He also want to know what Suzuki-Caufield-Poehling will bring to the table next year. before making is next big splash. To be honest, I dont blame him. Mrs is worth it!!!!

IF there is any truth to this thread Domi is a serious non starter ....given they just got him and he is part of the new core ...so the logical starter is Drouin who is signed to a decent manageable contract plus what ever Jets want in combinations of D or F prospects or picks.

The Jets will want an established NHL above average young player, an above average prospect and a 1st round draft pick. I would do that to get Laine. Domi would be the guy I would let go. His value is high, his salary is reasonable considering, and the Habs have too many midgets as it is, with Caufied on the way. They were thinking about moving Domi back to the wing, anyways. Suzuki or Phoehling takes his place. If those two are not ready, you trade Drouin for a play making center who is good, but not a star. You offer Winnipeg Brook or Juulson, as the Jets have had their defense decimated. You'll refuse to give your 1st round pick for 2020, as A.) It's a strong draft and B.) It will be held in Montreal, but you sweeten it by offering a 2021 2nd pick and a 2021 1st pick. Perhaps, that will get you Laine. If you trade both Domi and Drouin, you'll have the money to pay him and for a long time.

Only when there’s a real public source...guarantee anyone he claims is a source is actually him... or other people (not anyone with any credentials) making guesses as well...
Looking at rosters, reading Bob Mackenzie, Elliott F. Etc...
Seeing what they are saying about teams needs and then guessing who is likely to make a particular move... many times its 3 teams they throw out there...
When he says I’m hearing a lot, that means he’s been on the internet reading what ppl are saying.
Although I would imagine that he considers other hockeybuzz writers as sources... most of them would be more qualified than Eklund.

I'm no Habs fan but they have surprised me at how well they've built themselves (expensive goalie aside) the last couple of years after seeming to middle about for a couple seasons before that. Anyways, i like their team, and i like Domi on their team and Laine would be a nice addition but there's no way I'm giving up Domi to do that. Offersheet or futures trades only.

So let me get this straight...there is a team pursuing Gardiner, and a source on that team decided to tell Ek that everyone (big if true) is hearing that the Pens are making a big offer for Gardiner, despite the Pens having no cap space.

I’m impressed how everyone just says ‘offer sheet laine’ Like they know that the jets wouldn’t match. If Montreal offer sheets Laine for anything over 10 I’m sure the jets let him go. The question is this, would you offer sheet Laine for 10 per year times 7 years based on potential? He had a bad year last season minus one month. Maybe it works out and maybe it doesn’t. Seems that an offer sheet for Marner would make more sense as he’s been consistent throughout his career. Again, that would mean they’d have to throw a big offer out not to have Toronto match.
Offer sheets don’t work in the nhl and clearly if MB does this there will be payback in future years.

I'm not saying I think the pens age going to get Gardner at all, but they'd just have to move Schultz and Bugstad to do that. That would give them over 10.5 to play with. If they think gardiner is the a better fit than Schultz long term, that makes sense to do.

Stop the Laine>Domi ++ nonsense, I think a lot of people are far over valuing Laine.
