Pittsburgh has$1 in Cap Space. Next yr has to pay Galchenyuk Schultz Murray & Kahun. They'd have to sell a lot for Gardiner!!! IMO that'd be another terrible move by Pittsburgh. Without a terrible Tanev signing they'd have been a lot closer. |

Have Montreal Canadian fans, the most storied franchise in NHL history, forgotten what hockey is about? They are valuing a 24 year old 64 goal scoring #1c center over a 21 year old 110 goal scoring (let's not forget Laine also has more assists than Domi has goals in his career). Your kidding right? Please say your kidding |

no no no
I was assured, during the last lockout, that people cheered for the PLAYERS, not the team.
Of course I asked what happened then when a player got traded or retired and nobody had an answer, but that is the HB experience we all know and love. |

The real truth is that if this Laine for Domi trade ever happened (it won't) then Habs fans would be happier than Charlie Sheen if he were locked in a pharmacy overnight. But as long as Domi is a Hab and Laine is a Jet, Domi is apparently better. Cheer for the laundry. And now KomiSally Rex will be triggered yet again because his ultra sensitive thin skin can't handle any criticism against the perfect Habs. 😂 |

Talk about cherry picking. Just ignore these facts while you're at it:
- Last season, Laine had 2 more goals than Domi.
- Last season, Domi had more assist than Laine had goals.
- Last season, Laine was by far the worst +/- on his team. At -24, he doubled the next one (Little at -12). Other than Little and Laine, only 3 other full time players were in the minus. I don't care about the whole narrative about the +/- stats, when comparing to teammates it gives you an idea on the player.
- Laine is significantly lazier than Domi.
- Domi put 22 more points than Laine last year.
- Domi scored 27 more pts than last year while Laine scored 20 less points than last year.
- Domi can defend his teammate.
But hey, that's what I expect from biased Leafs fans. Not all Leafs fans are biaised btw, be one of them. |

While in reality there is nothing here, IF there were a deal to be made, consider that Winnipeg actually needs serviceable NHL calibre d-men. So a deal of Drouin (preferably over Domi), Petry, Josh Brook or Juulsen and a couple of 2nds in 2020 might do it? Would even throw in Alzner and retain half his salary. |

Why not judge them on their last 3 seasons? Domi had two junk years before last year. Cherry picking indeed. Comparing a career year to a career worst while ignoring age and previous seasons.

The issue here is how bad the Habs need a center, otherwise it's Laine over Domi all day every day.
First 3 seasons. 18yo - 21yo Laine 110 goals
First 3 seasons 20yo -23 yo Domi 36 goals
Laine will rebound just fine after a down year. If you consider a down year scoring 6 less goals than the other guys first 3 seasons combined.
It's silly to judge Laines worst season in comparison to Domis best. Especially when Laine is 3 years younger to boot. One can make many bad decision's playing tricksies like this. - systemtool

You guys can argue about Domi versus Laine all day long. Truth is, Ek has been hearing about this so obviously there is some smoke here. It's also possible that the Habs are viewing Laine as a sign and trade scenario. Domi for Laine. Sign him long term. Then trade for Malkin or something like that. |

I compared their last year to the year before. Trend is really important at that age. At 20 years old, you expect a high end player to destroy his 18 years old season numbers. If you don't see anything out of the ordinary here I don't know what to tell you. |

- One doesn't bring anything else if he doesn't score goals.
- The other was able to produce 72 pts being our #1C, playing a energetic game.
Compares the 2 with goals scored in the last 3 years.
"avoiding cherry picking" he says..

You havent made any points besides picking stats that are convenient to you while ignoring the larger sample size and age difference. |

I asked you to reread my comment if you didn't understand, but I guess I'll do everything for you. Here, maybe you'll get it:
Bringing the number of goals scored in the last 3 years to compare 2 players when one of them doesn't bring anything positive if he doesn't score is the definition of cherry picking.
Like who the (frank) here wasn't aware that Laine was a better scorer than Domi. |

So in conclusion, scoring goals isnt important.
Settle down. No need to get triggered just because Laine > Domi. |

Not sure how you can come to this conclusion. Goals are important but are not everything. This guy scored 2 more goals than Max did last year. Pretty sure Max's all around play vs Laine's is worth more than 2 freaking goals.
Maynard and Serj called, they don't like your nickname and want you to change it. |
