Not sure how you can come to this conclusion. Goals are important but are not everything. This guy scored 2 more goals than Max did last year. Pretty sure Max's all around play vs Laine's is worth more than 2 freaking goals.
Maynard and Serj called, they don't like your nickname and want you to change it. - mallet96
Wow. Triggered and a meltdown. Exciting!

Reading comprehension and understanding the game of hockey is not given to everybody I see.
After a 10 years hiatus on this site, it's good to see things haven't changed around here and that some of the posters are still going at it. I was expecting this site to be what the Blockbuster store is now. I'm sure you guys had quite some fun on here in the last decade |

I think Marner and Leafs throw a curve at everyone and he signs a max deal in the range of $90m over 8 years.
Dubas knows he needs to do a major deal and move a top forward for some defensive support or create some CAP space to resign Barrie.
But, I think Dubas hangs tough and does not do anything significant until after Christmas. Tough choices ahead. |

I asked you to reread my comment if you didn't understand, but I guess I'll do everything for you. Here, maybe you'll get it:
Bringing the number of goals scored in the last 3 years to compare 2 players when one of them doesn't bring anything positive if he doesn't score is the definition of cherry picking.
Like who the (frank) here wasn't aware that Laine was a better scorer than Domi. - mallet96
let's only look at the last year which is most favorable for domi, and ignore all years.

I considered the trend that both players are following. Also, any good statistics (or forecast) software will put more weight on their last season. Why is that? Because a player is more likely to follow his trend perhaps?
What's more cherry picking than comparing 2 players for goals scored while one is a pure goal scorer and the other is more of a playmaker? You guys are (frank)in funny I'll tell you. |

scoring goals is the hardest thing to do in this league, so you yeah, i think it should be compared.
domi had a career high shooting % last year. laine a career low.
so, that is a trend that is supposed to continue? |

Bergevin needs to add to the team without subtracting.
That's the only way this team is going to get out mediocrity. Trading Domi immediately subtracts from the team. |

Backchecking, working hard, putting pressure on the puck and not being completely useless without the puck is also hard to do against the best players in the world. Guess what, those kind of guys will ruin a team in the playoffs. But let's ignore that since scoring goals is the hardest thing to do in the league.
If the trend is supposed to continue? I don't know but if he still plays Fortnite as much as a 12years old kid, it might continue indeed. But maybe you have some kind of inside info? |

I guess you haven't been paying attention because Kessel was working hard in those cup runs compared to his play with the leafs. Playing with 2 of the top3 centermen in the world might have helped him a bit don't you think? Also, he came back to his old ways last year and his value on the market shows it. |

My woman doesn't even exaggerate like that. I never said Domi was a Selke candidate but at least he is not a liability without the puck and plays some defense.
Do I need to mention how long Montreal needed two top centermen? But hey, just trade montreal's 1st centerman who scored over 70 since who, Koivu (?), for a player who is supposed to be the next Ovechkin but just had a down year and is addicted to video games. No risk here at all.
I'd package Drouin for him tho. |
