You're missing the point - jcragcrumple
Probably I just don’t care that much for 4th line players
You can plug in CJ Smith and everything would be fine |

Free agent LB Josh Bynes visited the Bills.
They also met with free agent Stephone Anthony. Bynes started 11 games in an every-down role for the Cardinals last year before landing on IR. He's a career journeyman, but it's surprising he still hasn't signed with a team. Bynes and Anthony should eventually resurface. |

Salaries escalate. The game is to make deals in which the value of the contract outpaces salary inflation. The preds get that, as demonstrated by Sissons and Jarnkrok.
The goal is that in year 3, when you have Eichel, Dahlin and Skinner make the big bucks, and guys like Girgs and Larry are making $2.5, then Erod is still making 2. You have to take chances on low cost contracts. We don't have any, currently, beyond 1 year of Reinhart and Dahlin's elc |

He was having a career year before he hurt his thumb
He would be a really good depth add |

ELC are the most important aspect of any cup contender at this point. Mitts will most likely get bridged so if he explodes after this upcoming season then that will be value. Cozens, Pilut, Joker, UPL, Pekar, Laaksonen, and the list goes on.
Erod is a fine player but I would not go anymore then 3 years and no more then $2.25M

I just don’t think erod is that good and signing him long term would be a mistake he will be in the press box in the coming years
And Sissons is actually good and his d game is top Quality |

Something the Bills sorely need at LB. We have one of the best starting groups in the league, but if any leave for injury, that core gets bad fast.
Bills also re-hired Brian Gaine. Saw that one coming. Good hire. |

Really good Yost piece in the buffalo news
"I think there’s plenty of reason to be optimistic about some of the younger players. I mentioned Pilut earlier, but Brandon Montour, Jake McCabe and Casey Nelson could be significant entities if only based on their upside. We have seen enough from Zach Bogosian, Matt Hunwick and Marco Scandella at this point to try to limit their usage or eradicate it altogether.
If this is going to be the Dahlin show and little else, Buffalo’s going to really struggle when the top pair is off the ice. But if we see some competency down the lineup, there’s a chance the Sabres can make a serious push to end their playoff drought." |

Fascinating. Because what this tells me is that Erod is better at his job than Sissons is at his. |

sabres bottom 6
sobotka
larsson
girgens
okposo
vesey
and someone else
that's a lot of cheddar - homiedclown
That’s gross ..... that is really bad. Besides okposo due to his contract. Most of those players need to be placed next year.
Vesey. We will see.

i can count the number of times i have actually eaten a mango with my digits on my body.. and i honestly can't remember if there was skin on it.. i tend to live my life not caring about what people think about me.. like yesterday when driving some cranky old lady pulled up next to me looked at me and yelled.. i looked at her and smiled and waved.. - SabresFaninIndiana

You're really talking about two sides of the same coin. Value contracts are either ELCs, or guys on good contracts |

outside of those two, buffalo doesn't really have a breakout candidate type player besides Mitts.. Cozens is too young and no one else has that elite skill potential.. unless for some reason Ullmark clicks (i doubt it) |
