Elie my darling, you are my sunshine;
When we're together I feel fine.
Your smile is so lovely; your hair is so clean;
You make me feel that the whole world is mine.

Dude oreilly deserved the conn. It was quite obvious. I said it. And was mocked.
Let go of the hate. Most of your takes are good, oreilly is terrible, kane not so great either. - Mentalorgasm5
O’Reilly was the best player in the finals.

Has anyone seen e-Rod?
Is he okay from being shredded by Botts and co about why he sucks and doesn’t deserve to be paid. |

If they lost game 7, ROR would have been the goat for pulling the ol' "Campbell game 7 puck over the glass delay of game" the game before. He had a good story, and a redemptive story within the series and within his career. Not that it really matters, but a couple of other guys could have won the smythe depending how game 7 went and who scored |

He’s been playing fortnite in the dark while his family divorced him and took everything, just how Botts should want him. Now pay him even less |

What an incredibly brilliant move by Botterill to squeeze erod for a couple hundred thousand. Gotta pay for Wilson and Elie somehow! |

Yes an ahl goalie / almost echl goalie
The difference is that he played on an already good blues team / a bruins team that was absolutely Destroyed by injuries.
Goaltending is very situational.
Lehner sucked on the Sabres and Vezina candidate for the islanders
Dubnyk sucked with the oilers and has been great
Any goalie for the kings looked amazing back in the day (during their cup runs)
Bernier with the kings looked great, game fell off with a bad leafs team.
Talbot with a pre tank rangers looked legit ... went to the oilers and the game fell off
I can go on and on with other examples. |

The Sabres are tight against the cap, partly because players such as Scott Wilson are under contract, and maybe the arbitrator will be drunk and give Elie more than league minimum which Botterill will have to pay for.
Erod asked for $2.65, vs. Team ask of $1.5. I'm assuming that if Copp got 2 years, $2.28 per, then Erod is going to get at least $2.15, which is probably worse than if Botterill had just compromised.
Maybe he'll save $100k or $200k, or maybe it costs him that. Either way, what a silly waste of time while antagonizing the player |

Even in Game 7, the Blues stood around for the first 10-15 minutes while Binnington stood on his head. Binnington should have won the Conn Smythe but it was obvious he wasn't going to. The media was running with the O'Reilly story before the series even started, and the media votes on the Conn Smythe. It was blatantly obvious it was his if the Blues won it. |

Would you rather be the Nashville predators and give him a 7 year deal ? What better way to restrict your roster flexibility and inhibit the grow of your ELC players because two guys, who will most likely be replacement level players in a few years, are taking up roster spots in the bottom 6. |

The concern for Evan Rodrigues' feelings here seems more than a little on the high side at the moment.
He'll be signed. It will be fine. If the Sabres aren't a good team this year, his arbitration case will have absolutely zero to do with it. |

Took care of Cozens & Pekar today for lunch
Cozens looks like he needs to add A LOT of weight/muscle still
I doubt he’s here this season longer than the 9game tryout - jdfitz77
What was your impression of Pekar? I think he will be a fan favorite 20/21 playing an agitators role. |

So you are saying it isnt necessary to invest big money into the goalie position.
Just hope they get hot when needed...like Binnington was in all the right games ...contrary to our resident Contrarian Poster. |

At $2m for him if it is a 2 year deal, I'd seriously consider trading him. Not that he is bad, but $2m on the 4th line is an overpayment IMO. |
