I listened on Sirius - It was Boomer Gordon with his trusty sidekick, Tyler. This guy's beef was the Sabres should not be allowed in the Draft Lottery anymore. He is a downer but he is right - the Sabres should be better. In addition, he did not look in-depth at the progression from GMTM's roster (not necessarily points), that was required, in order to position the Sabres for the long haul. He is pedantic but he is not wrong.
I think Botts deserves a C. - TC4145

Not all soups are hot. Oatmeal is a hot breakfast soup though - jcragcrumple
Agreed on oatmeal but the subject was cereal. I don't eat it very often but I enjoy a bowl every now and then, especially when the wifey buys my kids some old school sugary crap cereal I used to eat back in the day.

I would have to imagine the dream job of being a sports talk show host turns in to a nightmare when all the teams in the town you work in suck.
But those two are god awful.
Shopp's voice needs to be punched in the d!ck. - seedy
I love Schopp and the Bulldog. They can do no wrong, in my opinion. I especially like Schopp's attitude and lack of respect to stupid callers. |

Non soup related, here's our corsi leaders.
Player 5-on-5 CorsiFor % 2016-2019
Colin Miller 56.82
Henri Jokiharju 54.1
Lawrence Pilut 53.22
Rasmus Dahlin 51.91
Casey Nelson 50.25
Brandon Montour 49.39
Matt Hunwick 49.07
Zach Bogosian 48.71
John Gilmour 48.12
Jake McCabe 47.53
Marco Scandella 47.51
Rasmus Ristolainen 46.45
I find it curious that we had to acquire the top 3, and had to draft the 4th, and accomplished that number as an 18 year old defenseman. Montour’s CF% in 20 games with Buffalo was 54.53, making him 2nd on the list. So really, we had to acquire the top 4. |

Howard is ok. Jeremy is starting to really bother me. He's such an extreme liberal version of a sports commentator. When Bulldog is solo, it's listenable radio for me. Schopp just bothers the snot out of me. I like the PSE shows. Say what you guys want about the hosts, but the topics are typically interesting and above all, on (frank)ing topic. - TheSabresTaco

If you guys haven't read this, it's worth it. It goes beyond the "Trade for Colin Miller you PUTZ cuz he's SO GOOD" baseless narrative you'll see on twitter from the DBTB boys and their acolytes.

I still like those guys, and will take them 10/10 days over that poopbag Harrington, but it's like they see one anayltic and all the sudden he's Drew Doughty or Conner McDavid. |

I read this yesterday and though Yerdon is a stats guy, he combines it with the eye test, which seems to be rare for stats guys. It was a good read.

$3 bruh
Hard to summarize really, it's more of an analytical and eye test look at what the Sabres should consider rolling out on defense, with an entire scope look at the defense. It's not just
"Here's his RAPM" chart, so he's good."
Here's one version of an optimized lineup
Dahlin – Jokiharju
McCabe – Montour
Pilut – Ristolainen
And another one, without Risto's physicality and Risto/Pilut's chemistry
Dahlin – Jokiharju
Pilut – Montour
McCabe – Miller |

See have taken a page from my book on Risto and applied it to Miller, lol.
I'd wait to see how he plays first, but whatever. |

What struck me was the love for The Joker In both scenarios with 35 games on his resume, to put him as 1RhD on a pairing with one who has 82 games. Seems a bit, just a bit risky. That said, I do think we see that combination eventually and furthermore believe it may work out great. Just a bit premature given the very low sampling on both players.
But Miller having played with decent underlying numbers is a slug.
I'll let it play out, it should be fun to watch the D mature over the next couple of years! |
