If this team that Botts put together is bad again a decision needs to be made if botts is the right man for the job moving forward.

It’s because we didn’t trade for Jacob Trouba who wouldn’t have extended here

It really shouldn't be a controversial statement to say a GM needs to make the playoffs in 3 years

This whole fire Botts if they don't make the playoffs next season seems so out of touch, much like the poster wanting to burn down the Ralph after last seasons rather putrid start. It was quite obvious the Bill's were in for a dismal season, but were primed to take the next step this season.
The same scenario of financial constraints due to bad contracts they had to eat before taking the next step and overhauling to roster.

2019-2020 Sabres season is similar in nature to Bill's 2018 season.

Again, you are 1 year premature in throwing the gauntlet down.

Pegula is going to give Botterill and Kruger time.

Ehlers is horrible, I don't know why people want this guy. They are looking for a 2nd line center.

So if Eichel misses 35 games and we miss by 6 points he’s still gotta go?

Doesn’t matter if we’re continuing to trend in the right direction, doesn’t matter if Mitts, one of his big draft picks looks like he took a huge step?

Or how about if it looks like he hired a good coach?

Half of out future core is 20 years old or younger.

If this team improves from their point totals from last year it’s trending in the right direction.

This is where others tell us to go become fans of Toronto/Tampa if we want to expect winning, because that is how being a fan of a team works.

I think some of us realize this team was a complete mess from tmgm's tenture.

How many 1st round guys to he trade away?

Winnipeg: armia, Myers, stafford, 1st rounder 2015 and lemieux (2nd) round but, 1st pick

Colorado- zadarov , girgerenko, 31st pick and it comptner

Those moves alone , take years to rebuild

We depleted our prospects, guys who would be good now.

If you bring in Ehlers, he likely slots as you 2LW which then
- pushes Johansson down to 3LW and Vesey to 4LW
- makes Oloffson and Sheary expendable
- does absolutely nothing to improve the 2C nor the abysmal RW position, the 2 biggest needs on the forward line.

Olofsson could get sent down again I suppose, or Johansson or Vesey moved...but why bring them in then..so not likely.

There’s a difference between excuses and just plain being realistic

It’s not realistic to expect this team to jump TB Bos or TOR.

It’s going to be a fight for the WC.

This GM doesn’t have the luxury of John Tavares wanting to play for us for no assets

Or Steven Stamkos/Kucherov taking modest deals to stay.

He has to live on his drafting. Which we haven’t see come to fruition yet.

Again, if the supporting cast he’s built falls apart or Krueger is a disaster then it’s tome to have that discussion

The merry go round is gonna stop, he's going to let continuity come together between Kruger and Botterill. Have to start bringing this team together and they really believe that Kruger can do that along with what Botterill can do.

Rookie year- 15goals in 72games
Year 2- 25goals in 82games
Year 3- 29goals in 82games
Year 4- 21goals in 62games (28goal pace)
