Team got Montour and got worse

Phil was that bad

- homiedclown

Montour is but that good though. We gave up a 1st for a 3 year jump in Guhles progression.

Yeah, there weren’t too many guys who looked good in the 2nd half

That was pretty brutal

- jdfitz77

Jack
Sam
Dahlin

Casey and erod had decent last 20 games

But oh my it was frustrating

Ehlers was playing fortnite during the playoffs

So I solved that mystery

Laine. Can’t maintain this level he is not good he has horrible underlying numbers.

His play is not sustainable.

Ehlers. Luck sucks sometimes so we can ignore his horrifying stats.

Do I have this right?

- ImThatGuy

I'll ask again, what's it take to get him. You have refused to answer because you know it'll take a GMTM overpayment. But hey, it's easier to say x guy sucks at GMing because he can't pull in the "big fish". If Laine is really on the market, have you ever wondered why WPG would be giving up on Ovi2.0?

If captain Jack went 21 playoff games without a goal

good chance kim and terry would run him out of town

just saying

botts pulled in skinner, montour and miller on one of the worst franchise in the last 10 years

that says something

It does. I'm not saying it doesn't. We'll see. If everything's the same (Meaning what it'd take to land Laine vs Ehlers) give me Laine even knowing we're going to pay 3ish more per year. I would like to know the difference in cost from the Jets perspective though. Is it:

Ehlers for Risto + small add
Laine for Risto, Sam, and a first? I feel like it's rather add Ehlers at that point.

But we'll see.

I'd rather move some scrubs and see what we have in olofsson, asplund, pilut and the joker

I feel we have room to add 1 more big contract

I have no clue if it needs to be a goalie, a d man, a center, a lw or a rw

Never pay a goalie unless he's a top-5 of all time. The league hasn't seen a generational goaltender in a long time. Price and Lundqvist were close, but not there

Didn't bennington just about single handily win st. Louis the cup?

Goaltending is important.

They just got lucky he was underpaid as their 4th rated goalie

Seriously, don't teams start getting impatient with this? He's had a month now, I feel like interested parties would start putting the heat on to force his hand.

Getting good goaltending at the right time is incredibly important, like the Hamburglar for Ottawa, or Tim Thomas for the Bruins, or any of the Blackhawks goalies, or Binnington.

Paying a goalie too much much almost never works out. Luongo, Price, Dipietro, add Bob to that list shortly.

There are exceptions, of course, but it's better to build a soild team in front of reasonable goalies than pay someone $10m for a 92.5% save instead of a 91.0% imo

I agree with you, I kinda feel like our goaltending is the week spot on the team moving forward

Skinner had quite the goal scoring collapse towards the end of last season & they gave him 9mil x 8yrs

U guys are getting pretty riled up about a very small sample size

Is it cause for concern?
Of course
But there’s also 298 regular season games of goal scoring evidence that we have as well

Ehlers is a really good, young player, on a great contract
Just seems like a good fit to me

We shall see. I'm more concerned about center depth and a lack of defensive defensemen, personally

Yeah I’m not concerned with how many LW we have because only one is better than Ehlers.

If that’s the best deal for Risto I take it

I think the goaltending will get better.

They were historically bad the last half of the season
