Teply is confirmed to play in Canadian juniors this season with Winnipeg in the WHL. It will be good for him to get the experience on smaller ice and playing against tough competition that will test his compete level and whether he can bring it consistently. He's got solid offensive skills but the consistent engagement, especially without the puck, is one of his most notable areas for growth. |

Ohh...Those D pairs...Keith already should be sliding down to 2nd pair, I hope he isn't still top pair in 4 years...that would not be good IMO. |

Smith??? Hes like top 10 in taking minor penalties...he'll be in the box once a game. Shaw wont help the PIMs either, along with a full year of the Drake.
Thankfully JC has a training camp this year because allegedly that will help his 'system's and what held him back last year from implementing one - PatShart
Let's see how he plays out with Kampf and Carpenter and a better blue line, maybe they won't be chasing the puck all night. Saad did great on line 3, i see Saad, Shaw and someone else. Caggiula is actually the most disciplined of the 3 of them. I don't remember him taking any stupid penalties while skating with Toews and Kane. |

Great point. I'm also not a fan of picking crow over lehner next year. I love crow but after those comcussions... think this is lehner's job to lose. |

Finally some productive trade chatter. I still think moving Kane to the Yotes could be sneaky smart by Stan. We may even want to ask for Hossa contract back as part of that move.

Enzo has assured us that bum Toews would be a third liner after Dach and Strome so hopefully we'll see less of Toews in all situations. - paulr

Teams need a defense thst csn movevthe puck. That iis how it eorks now in thr NHL.colliton could rmploybGus, deHahn and Keithbas primaryvpuckbmovers; one forveachbpairtheuretically dounds fine. Who knows how itvturns out
But deHahn could surprisr with his offensive capability.. Just a footnotr- deHahn was drafted #12 overall and debuted as a good skater..He prepped in the.AHL.
If those three are logging thr puck often then our defense may not be as bad as i suggested it might be only yesterday.
You haveva declining Keith, a so so Mutphy and teo wrak skaters in Maata and Seabrook
Skatting can be a problem. Savvy veterans dmen and or smart effective dmen
need to be managed correctly.

Calgary re-signs Bennett to 2 year deal worth $2.55 million per season.
While he’s not a direct comparison to Perlini it shows he won’t be signing for $1 million. Bennett’s second contract of $1.95 million may be more accurate. |
