he's the only one here who knows the embedded codes that get the red font
- Rota's Rooter

Or you can just quote someone with red font, or any other color, and the method becomes obvious

So I guess they think the Hawks really blew it with selecting Dach 3rd
- HamiltonHawk

If I were drafting i would go with the Hawks scouting department instead of the Athletic.

I remember the good old days when we got Cat in the 2nd round

Teuvo dropped to us

Kane was to small to play in the NHL

And so on and so on

I don't think the Hawks have the cap space for Gusev, I heard he wants around $4 million. The Hawks can have about $2.5 million in cap space right now with a 21 man roster.
- DarthKane

+$3,336,539 Cap space (20 players)
+$3,250,000 Move Zach Smith and a sweetener for a 7th round pick.
+$ 925,000 Move Koekkoek to the Rock for the 1st day (LTIR Dehaan)
=$7,511,539 Cap Space (18 players)

+$3,750,000 Gusev
+$ 925,000 Dach
+$ 750,000 Sikura
+$ 925,000 Kubalik
+$ 894,167 Boqvist
=$7,244,167 (23 players)

I also recall a certain thin skinned blogger who was convinced that Kane was an entitled little punk who was “bad for the Brand. Shockingly, he seemingly turned out to be wrong about that, so maybe there is hope for Nylander, and to a lesser extent Perlini.

They at the Athletic have a lot of pro scouts on their staff I imagine. Probably talk to Scotty Bowman a lot too. Jk

Counting only the 2019 draft picks - they rank Dach 7th (if I counted right).

The difference between their ranking of 3rd and of 7th is....

Minimal?

Perlini, Nylander, our 1st & 3rd round pick for Gusev and the Knights 2 2nd round picks.
- -Doh-

The Knights 2nd round pick will look like a third round pick no thanks and they don't want to take two players back they have to pay for one.

True, but after the 1st 2 picks I imagine a dart board with about 8 names on it.

If Gusev is as good as people say he may be worth a 1st.
You wouldn’t trade Perlini and Nylander for two 2nd round picks? It would clean up excess forwards. They can play Perlini and Nylander or they can stash them in the minors.

So Nylander didnt "hustle" enough at a week long of practice drills. With a bunch of misfits. Most who will never sniff the NHL.

And Zack Smith is going to "help" the Hawks.
