Saw this last night. Really nice resolution for 1964 and some nice in-game and practice footage.

What they should get is either laughed at or hung up on! Try to not have slow dmen or lackadaisical forwards

Now i am not going to be lackadaisical about researching both players scouting report their draft year. I seem to recall Perlini went like #12 overall and cannot recall exactly when Maata was plucked. What were the scouts for those teams thinking? If i thought either player could become a top player, i would look up their old scouting report.

- jhawk59

Perlini= so much size and speed. And that shot. NHL caliber. Meanwhile his dad was setting aside the hat trick cigar. That was the week of Perlini when the dad was able to finally light that cigar up. Great week for the Perlini's and Hawk fans as well.

I should probably cancel that custom CAPSPACE jersey then. Maybe a sarcastic Ottawa fan will get one though

Well the rules are getting pretty lax for what is banner worthy these days.

Let me just go on the record as saying that no one on this board knows anything about Alex Nylander, his family, his work ethic, his path through the Sabre's organization.

Quit listening to people on a public hockey board who claim to know anything about any of those subjects, because they don't.

Wait for camp, wait for the preseason, watch him play, then make your own informed decision about what he is or isn't.

It reminds when people talk about who won the draft before a guy has even played a minute, a down, or a period.

- vabeachbear

None of it matters and what you say is correct but the main thing is Stan and his staff see A LOT of SKILL, and unteachable talent. This Nylander is going to be here, whether we like it or not. It doesn't even matter what Nylander does on the ice. He has shown enough during his draft year. This man will show up, and we will cheer and be grateful. Let's all think positive and make it happen. However, after the first week of camp, if he shows lack of effort, let the collective effect of our negative comments come down so hard on Nylander that he is scared straight.

Likely to change based on what happens in camp, etc., but seems a lot stronger than last year.

8 of the 13 forwards were not on the team to start last season - that's some kind of turnover.

We certainly hope that Perlini and Kubalik work out reasonably well - which means no room for Sikura and Nylander, even if they show well in camp.

Of course, injuries happen.

Really only two possibly switched out - Kubalik and Perlini. Even Quenneville is likely to stay - they wouldn't want Sikura or Nylander to be the 13th forward in Chicago.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dach get a 9 game stint to start the season where he'll slot in as the 3C. I'm a Kampf fan but I think playing on the third line may be a bit above his pay grade.

I expect Shaw will spend some time with DeBrincat and Strome too.

I know they haven't got much fan-fare, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how de Haan and Maatta perform. I think they'll exceed our expectations.

And 3 of the 6 defenseman if you include Murphy since he was injured.

It depends on Perlini and Kubalik, I think - I'm not sure anyone else would be moved out to make room for him - and if P and K show well, given that a good start to the season is a necessity with 7 of the first 8 games at home, I don't think they would "weaken" the team by experimenting with Dach.

Agreed, Kubalik and Perlini aren't locks to be on the opening night roster. But if I had to guess I would say Kubalik makes the team and Perlini is dealt. I hope I'm wrong, but when I see Perlini I see another Panik or Duclair.

I think Quenneville makes sense as the 13th forward. Some people are guessing Wedin but I don't see that happening.

Correct. Q would be subject to waivers. I also would have Smith/Kampf swap spots. 3rd line of Saad/Smith/Shaw would be an incredible checking line and 4th line Caggs/Carp/Kampf would be tough to play against. 2010 team had a nasty grinder bottom 6 rolling every game. This bottom 6 is not that level but it could be close.

I’m having a hard time digesting Wedin with any role tbh albeit on limited video clips. At 26, AHL doesn’t make sense but it makes even less sense to have him on the big club with Q already destined for 13th forward. I don’t see where he fits.

My wild prediction... the Hawks win the Central led by Lehner who is re-signed to a multi-year deal in the spring.
