Yeah, it’s actually still considered DT..

And if you haven’t seen a crackhead in the market you must be blind,

You mean, you're not enjoying all this "Cap-Hell" talk? Or discussing what remote part of Ontario is the nicest to visit?
- PatC80

We haven’t even discussed the remote parts..

Agawa canyon has my vote, though..

Or maybe Pukaskwa 🤔

The city talk is good. The Cap Hell talk not so much.
- Zezel

I enjoy Leaf games in Montreal too, but damn the winds down the streets in the middle of winter really suck.
It's 87 bucks round trip on the Via, not including beer.

Missinaibi river - starts north of Lake Chapleau, North of Lake Superior and flows into James Bay. Was an old Fur Trader route. Did a three week whitewater canoe trip. An unforgetable adventure - unbelievable scenery and wildlife. Five minutes of fishing in the morning usually resulted in at least a 5 lb smallmouth or several pickerel. Not for the faint of heart though - horse flies the size of hummingbirds.

You don’t get a full sense of the community unless you’ve lived there for awhile..

People tell me they love North Bay, I can’t even muster up a response to that..

- Arctic_AARDVARK

North Bay is great because you are still in small town northern ontario but it has more urban civilization(schools, hospitals, shopping, etc) than the real small town North. You can get the best of both worlds. And you're only 300+ KM's to Toronto or Ottawa(but the Ottawa drive is lame) making weekend trips to the city easy.

Every franking year Mrs. Wedgie and I say we will do a road rail trip to Montreal for a Leafs game. Train is the only way to go.

Maybe this year...

If you factor in the gas and the $100 you are going to pay for 2 nights parking at your hotel, train is probably cheaper.

I always wanted to do that train ride. Or a train to Ottawa for a Laffs game. The drive to Montreal somehow manages to not be scenic. I feel like a five hour drive in any direction in this country is beautiful except the Toronto to Montreal drive.

North Bay is (frank)ed.

I mean, every small city in northern Canada is (frank)ed.. I enjoyed Callander, lots of good memories. I get what you mean, but growing up we’d drive to Sturgeon for better deals than in NB. I know hwy 11 better than anyone, I live only 5 mins from it now. I used to travel from NB to Gravenhurst every single weekend (and back). It’s better now cause it’s 4 lane, but hwy 17 to Ottawa is wayyyy prettier. I like the stretch from Mattawa to Pet.

But in behind there, in Smoothwater PP, I want to hike Ishpatina ridge - highest point in ON.

Gonna be more than 87 bucks from Toronto, thats okay though so will gas.
Parking is about 15 a night so if you stay 3 or 4 nights it evens out.
