Yeah, my friend has a cabin on an island on temagami.. it’s a cool spot for sure!

But in behind there, in Smoothwater PP, I want to hike Ishpatina ridge - highest point in ON.

I always wanted to do that train ride. Or a train to Ottawa for a Laffs game. The drive to Montreal somehow manages to not be scenic. I feel like a five hour drive in any direction in this country is beautiful except the Toronto to Montreal drive.
- Zezel

Problem with the Ottawa train is it's nowhere near you want your hotel to be.

Ottawa gets scorching too.. (it’s not that far, lol)

But Ottawa is less congested, with all the same amenities as TO minus Baseball.. but honestly, no one cares about the Jays rn..

Ottawa is close to many great places to spend the day outdoors. I loved that city, as much as I love CGY..

It's been a long time since I've last been in Ottawa but I've always found that it's a lot more humid in Toronto than it is in Ottawa.

Maybe a tad..

But it’s crazy humid there, too. I remember one day it was 40 without the humidex, and the bus I was on didn’t have AC. People went crazy, some were crying, they demanded the driver pull the bus over and let people off hahah.

You don’t get a full sense of the community unless you’ve lived there for awhile..

People tell me they love North Bay, I can’t even muster up a response to that..

Ugh, lived there for 1 year (military brat).......zero redeeming qualities to that poop hole of a town

I’m not sure.

But I hear there’s a place where trains will drop you off in remote locations to go fishing for a couple days, not sure if it’s the same train or not. That would be pretty cool tho.

Hahaha wooord!

It’s actually really funny, because even though there’s literally nothing to do there, the people are actually the worst quality,

I left immediately after high school and went west. I’m out there hiking and skiing in the Rockies, and people in North Bay all post pictures of their adventures to Duscheny Falls, lmao.. jaysus b’y get the (frank) outta that hole.

Haha.....as if the flies and (frank)ing caterpillars in the spring weren’t bad enough.....(frank)ing right, the people are the worst.

The only thing I liked was camping on Lake Nipissing.

There's the big apple.

There's that big curve on a steep downhill just west of Kingston.

And there's that part east of Kingston where the highway separates so you can't see the cars going westbound.

Other than that, it's just a straight, boring highway.

My brother did that with canoeing, somewhere in northern Ontario.

You somehow flagged a train a km or two away, and it would slow down and stop - you load your canoe on and it takes you back to civilization.

Will it take my 16 foot aluminum with a 20 horse on the back?

There is a place in Prince Edward County that is worth checking out - if only for the sheer wonder. Called Lake on the Mountain. (more like a big hill) But there is a gravity-defying Lake with no obvious reason logically at the top of a hill.
