... 1 mil for a bottom 6 guy. You cant get hardly any cheaper.

Also this... his points and goals over a year if healthy are a very good value, apparently an above average 3rd liner or low tier 2nd liner. Dont blame me, blame math.

I’m not digging the contract. It’s a fine contract. He’s just not better than pretty much all of our wingers. Keeping him on as our 13th forward is fine enough but if he can get back something in a trade that helps us move a bad contract then I’m not thinking twice about it.

Personally I’d rather have ZAR for 2 years at 1 million then Rust for 3.5 at 3 years. Makes moving rust much easier to deal with then gambling on someone from the minors

I thought the rule was an arbitration award had to be given? The pens signed ZAR, the NHL didn't declare it an award, unless I'm missing something.

Oh. Maybe I’m wrong. Saw it in an article somewhere.

I read an article on the hockey news that stated once a player is "on the docket", the 2nd buyout window opens once it's settled. Can be either through arbitration award or agreement

https://thehockeynews.com...the-second-window-looming

- RoloTahmasee

They also mention JJ as a candidate and he doesn't make enough to be bought out in the second window.
Per Cap Friendly "The player must have a cap hit of at least $3,455,438 for the 2019 offseason"

Also in reading that settlement is counted. As long as it is on the docket. So that guy is right and wrong, at least according to capfriendly.

Pens forwards with a better points/60 at ES than ZAR last year: Crosby, Guentzel, Malkin, Kessel

I you say, yeah, but he got some points with Malkin, I'd say yeah, a lot of guys got points with Malkin or Crosby. ZAR also had a lot of 4th line minutes and still outproduced them all.

I could care less how fast he skates if the production is there, especially since he's not just a one-dimensional offensive player. Can you say that about any of the fringe players from WBS?

If they can do that I'm fine moving ZAR, I just don't think he has much trade value, yet has potential value here.

Wait... how is JJ over that 3.45 a year for a buyout? My brain is either really off today or I am misreading something.

He's fine as the 13th forward because I'd be shocked if everyone is healthy to start the year..or shortly after the year starts.

Rrrrreally hoping they manage to keep Rust.

He is not able to be bought out.

I was responding to the article linked in the post. That Article mentioned the Pens buying out Jack, but we can't.

Yep. He sure did.

Technically, he didn't "fondle" it. I think "grab" would be a better word.

Okay. Did you think the same thing when you read about about Kevin Stevens' addiction to prostitutes and crack?

Comparing a drunken mistake without the history of substance abuse to a severe disorder is pretty lame. Maybe you shouldn't take it so personal. Dumbass

Just asking why a lapse is judgement while drunk was "one of the funniest" things you'd ever read. I just figured you'd find headlines about people being impaired under the influence of drugs and alcohol funny.

I don't take it personal as it had literally no effect upon me or my family.

Flagged for the personal insult, as well.

Just seems like people doing sexual things under the influence is funny to him.

Yes, one destroyed a man's promising career and one netted a man a stay in a cell for a night, but they're both people making bad decisions related to alcohol/drugs.

And yes, it's a horrible stretch.

Like I said, a horrible stretch.

I get why people would get a chuckle out of the Giroux thing, but "one of the funniest headlines" ever seems a bit out there.
