I remember your old draft blogs. Didn’t you used to be the Coyotes blogger? - RafiDRW
Yup. I used to have time to write when I was living in Russia. Moved back to Canada and have a lot less time. Still go to the 67's games (season ticket holder) and a few Olympiques when I get the chance. |

You should quit your current job and write a third Toronto blog and just spam Lucas’ and Mike’s blogs with links to your own.
I do actually like reading your poop. Good writing style and informative. |

To be fair, in retrospect, that was a pretty weak draft overall.
Not that many first rounders ended up being stars.
Sure the Red Wings hit homeruns again in the later rounds but they were cheating with their actual scouting guys in Europe. - Scabeh

Datsyuk had the same poop as Panarin. Pretty funny. Zadorov while not great in the end was similar. He played in the middle of the Urals and nobody knew who he was other than Dale Hunters friend who saw him play once. Canadian equivalent has to be Mark "The Janitor" Jankowski and only the Flames one scout seeing him play of anybody in the NHL or amature circuit. |

We totally destroyed the competition in that draft. Was quite happy with what came out of that for us. |

And Ballard had basically stripped the scouting staff to the bones.
Stellick always speaks of how they went with Belleville Bulls because they basically only had info on OHL guys.
I wish I was making this up. |

No doubt. He was terrible. He brought back Grimson who at least was fun to watch fight. |

The Joe Colborne epoch was not as impactful as the Raffi Torres era... but still it had some meaning. - Aetherial
On paper, Colborne was everything the Leafs needed at the time. 1st rounder, size, and holy poop, we needed a centre.
I really hoped that he would work out.
I was at the last pre-season game before we gave him away. There was a play on the boards on our blueline, and he just stood and watched as the other team held it in and scored. Colborne was indifferent.
My hopes for Joey C. died that day.
No franking heart whatsoever. |
