I was talking about catching a connecting flight, not flying and then driving. I might've missed the driving bit of the conversation so my bad.
- RickJames77

My bad for not thinking that through.

The problem with Atlanta is it’s still 3 1/2 hours away. And ATL traffic is some of the worst. Chicago is six hours away and the most boring drive EVER.
- RafiDRW

Also, Boston from 7-10am and 4-7pm (times may be slightly off), was ranked the worst rush hour traffic in the US. I'm well aware of how poopty it can be

According to USNews it's 8th worst in the world

You've never driven from Toronto to Montreal
- TheMussel

A few times. Spent more time going up through North Bay, though.

Whenever I went to Boston, I always used public or taxis. Life was so easy. pretty much never drive to major cities anymore unless I have a family member or friend’s house I can park at and use their transportation system.

Have you ever driven through Philadelphia, or even Miami during rush hour.

That Sissons deal is interesting
- AdamFrench

Why? Ek is claiming it to be the most important signing of the season and he can be a top line centre. Not too many top line centres in the NHL scored 30 points last year.

That's probably because when you look at a map of Boston it becomes evident that the city planner was a 2 year old with a box of crayons

Yeah I found that as well...the gf and a group of friends and I have a week off so we are going to drive and make more of a trip out of it.

I’m hoping to go to a Flames/Leafs game because I’m there in dec but it doesn’t look cheap.

- Santo_44

Just plugged it into Expedia for fun - to see what it would cost to see the Leafs in January.

Fly in Saturday, out Tuesday morning.

Everything was going great with the booking until the return flight - you had to add $400 per person to get a direct flight (or have a 6 hour trip home).

So it would be over $2,000 for flights and 3 nice stay.

Smart

Our problem is that for the last 15 or so years our public transit hasn't been reliable. Boston has the oldest subway system in the US and it shows. It's also just generally run like poop so that doesn't help matters. If you search MBTA you'll seen subway train derails, which then they use the buses to route customers between stations on said rail. It just has a massive ripple effect throughout the city to the point were it took me over 2 hours to get to my office from my house, which is about 3 1/2 miles

I should've walked, but by the time I had found out what was going on it was no longer my best move and I was kind of stuck going the way that I was going.

I also searched an uber / lyft fare before I even left because I was late anyways and it was around 110$

No I haven't, but that was a pretty extensive research project that they do yearly so I'm not about to say it's worse than what I put up with on a daily basis

He might be flashing back to when the Preds first came into the league and their first line centre scored 30 points. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

It's definitely high on my list of next city to go see an NHL game (17 so far).

The one problem is the Toronto-Nashville flight is a PITA - very limited flights, and not cheap at all.

- Atomic Wedgie

Fly out of Buffalo?

Southwest flies Buffalo to Nashville although I do not think there are direct flights

Lived in Boston. It was franking fantastic.

The key is to live downtown. The city is tiny - you can walk anywhere.
