Relative statements. Taking an SCF finalist to 7 games is greater than not making the playoffs. Whatever word you want to describe Toronto as--for example "choke"--just applies even more to the Habs.

If Toronto choked in the first round, then Habs "choked" in the regular season and didn't even get to the first round.

What is with all the "click" BS? This article is NOT click bait. The Leafs are definitely the most desperate team in the league in terms of needing success. The blog is spot on. Let me also add that I am a die hard Leaf fan, and will be till the day I die. I bleed blue and white.

It's not just the 1967 thing. It's also the fact that Babcock hasn't won a first round since he's been here. It's the fact that the team has a TON of talent and hasn't found playoff success. It's the fact that Andersen has been a FANTASTIC regular season goalie, but he hasn't won the big game.

This team is under the microscope, and for very good reasons. Ek has simply highlighted these facts.

I believe that the team will be successful, and that it will get past the first round. But my belief does not erase the past.

This IS the most desperate franchise in hockey.
