Poor guy must have had nightmares for years about this moment.
I mean I failed to score in the shootout in my beer league's playoffs last year (we still won the championpoop though!! ) and it still kinda haunts me. |

I completely redeemed myself 2 games later with the GWG of the finals with 15 seconds to go.

I expected you to have more faith in me.
I didn't score in my own net.
I used all of my talent and pushed the puck in the net while falling on my ass after the goaltender gave up a rebound that fell right in front of me.
I'm a hero goddammit. |

I think Stefan had a lot of things to have nightmares over. You know in his draft year, despite going #1 overall and playing 455 games in the NHL, he had fewer point shares than guys like Douglas Murray, Mike Commodore, David Tanabe, Frank ("if you gotta pick one Kaberle, don't pick me") Kaberle, Martinek, Boynton . . .
I mean. He's 27th in his draft year. But was taken #1. I mean Daigle, who is generally the poster-boy for busts was 38th in his draft year, but had a point share that was twice that of Stefan (granted he was behind such stalwarts as Vyborny, Titov, Malik - you know, guys who if you're drafting in your hockey pool, there are either too many teams or too many rounds). |

Zach Hyman had a goal exactly like this last year. He basically carried it to the net. Stuff happened. There's a mass of writhing bodies on the ice. The puck is in. |

IIRC, Stefan's career was derailed by bad concussions. |

Other than the Sedins very few NHL players in 1999. Must have been a lot of scouts fired.
