I will bitterly complain that Matthews only got 32 minutes of ice time in the game 4 Stanley Cup 10-2 victory. - Atomic Wedgie
With Moore and Gauthier on his line.

The best hockey player born on your birthday has to score on a penalty shot to save your life. The goalie he's facing is the starter of the Stanley Cup champs the year you graduated high school.
Do you get to see tomorrow?

Isn't it funny that non-Leaf fans would name Toronto as the team most in "Cap Hell"?
It's the opposite. No team is doing better with their cap. - RogerRoeper
Well.
No.
They were in cap hell. But no team yet has made moves to loosen the cap restraints like the leafs have.
Leafs still have roster spots to fill with little to no rom once marner is signed. |

"Cap Hell" doesn't mean because you are close to the cap you're in it. Edmonton Oilers are truly in cap hell. |

How much of Mariners ice time do you think Babs is planning on giving to King David.
I think we should agree to call him King David. Hes going to rack up the points in front of the net on PP1 |

It does if they had a guaranteed 9-11m per contract being added and required to add many more players to complete the nhl roster.
They were in cap hell.
Dubas found a way out.....or at least have giving them breathing room.
For now.
Hes done a great job |

Don't get me wrong, I love trolling, but where exactly are you going with this?
The hockey world is in unanimous agreement that this was a deft move by Dubas to manipulate the salary cap.
Clarkson will never play another game.
So other than making yourself look stupid, what do you hope to achieve here?
You're making us feel better about our team - the exact opposite of what you think you are accomplishing. |

Leafs have 23 guys signed with Marner to go, no spots to fill, run with a 22 man roster untill Dermott and Hymwn get back, then demote 1 player. |

I still haven't seen a valid explanation of how this move helps the Leafs cap situation
There's no goalie who's gonna come in and play for less than Spark's cap hit of $700K |

hutchinson
The best explanation at the moment is that Horton and Clarkson can both be put on IR during the summer, which actually gives the leafs an extra 2 million or so to play with over the 10% they'd normally be allowed to exceed the cap during the summer. |

If you subscribe to the Athletic, Mirtle has a good article.
If not, go to Pension Plan Puppets.
It is a bit complex - it reminds me of back in high school, when my physics teacher had to explain decelerating acceleration - yes, you are still speeding up, but the rate that you are speeding up is decreasing.
"Aren't you decelerating?"
"Sigh...let's try this again..."
Basically if you are going to go over the cap, it's better to go waaaaaay over.
Read the article - I can't explain it properly. |
