Hard to say - honestly I think it was Bobby Orr, despite only 2 cups. Would literally skate around an entire team while opposition watched and looked incompetent. Gretzky/Mario/Howe were all sensatonal different skill sets but hard to say any better than another. - winsix
Howe put up 100 points when he was 42 years old. And that was a time when 100 point players were a rarity. Not hard see why a lot of old timers claim that he’s the best.
But for me it’s Gretzky. |

I have no idea if this is true or not, but somebody told me that if Orr had the same knee injury today, they would perform arthroscopic surgery on him and he would have been good as new.
My most vivid memory of Orr is actually my dad telling me about a rumour that Orr was going to go to the Soviet Union to try some sort of new surgery that was going to fix his knee. I still remember my dad being weirdly excited - he loved watching Orr. - Atomic Wedgie
He was unbelievable, and probably changed the way hockey was played more than any player. He was also the first NHL player to receive a million dollar contract.

The best hockey player born on your birthday has to score on a penalty shot to save your life. The goalie he's facing is the starter of the Stanley Cup champs the year you graduated high school.
Do you get to see tomorrow?

He was a beauty! And he was also humble and a fisherman. I'm sure Lucas would approve. Look at those pipes!

What am I missing? Leafs are currently over the cap according to cap friendly so how do they have room for marner? Can someone explain where the cap space will come from? |
