Hey baseball fans, I have a question. I’m heading to NYC in a week or so and want to see a Yankees game. Our hotel is in Times Square.
1. How do you get to the game in the Bronx via public transportation?
2. How safe is it to get to the game from the subway? Like normal big city keep your eyes open/ scary big city where the cops tell you to get back on the subway/ or charles Bronson in Death Wish 3?
3. Is it a fun place like wrigleyville in Chicago where you can grab a bite and a beer without being accosted?
Planning on going early and taking a tour of the stadium.
Thanks. - Da_Cashman
I spent may summers in Riverdale taking the subway through the Bronx to Yankees games. Very safe. That was back in the late 80’s when it was perceived not very safe too. You will be safe, you will not be accosted. NY’ers are much friendlier then they are perceived |

1. Take the D train from 42nd St Bryant Park/6th Ave to 161st St/Yankee Stadium. Follow the crowd out and to the stadium.
2. It’s very safe. Nothing to really worry about.
3. For the history, I like Stan’s. It just feels like it’s been there forever. Enjoy! |

You are. He's not injured badly. That's speculation because teams aren't going long term like he wants. He had two separate doctor's check him out and said he's good to play. He might need surgery next summer, but isn't the issue. - RhinoFan
If I’m a GM he be off my list I’m not signing a guy 5m -6m when one little crazy hit might do it
1 year 5m or 6 sure ( I’m not going to invest in something that might collapse in half a year ) |

It won't be a problem. From Times Square I think you take the 2 train. Just ask at the hotel. 80% of the people on the subway before the game and at the Stadium will (A) look like tourists or (B) have yankee gear on. If you do one of those two things you will absolutely look like you belong there.
(I used to go to a weekend set at Yankee stadium every year for 25 years or so.)

Then you should also be against the MoJo signing too, right? I mean he's one hit away. Just playing devil's advocate here. |

As with many other city make sure your wallet isn't somewhere obvious. Transportation is clean but if you go at peak times (especially for a night game) prepare for a packed train (and I mean PACKED). The area around the stadium is closed to traffic and there are lots of vendors.

My dad is a lifelong Yankee fan and had never been to Yankee stadium so for his 50th birthday my brother and I splitting the cost of a big weekend (3 games 1 big dinner out) in NYC and it just kept going for about 20 or 25 years. Then dad moved to Florida and my brother moved to Maine. |

Way better? I don’t think so. They are both statistically the same. One was on an elite roster and the other was on some terrible teams |

Yup, time square and the village are like Disney land now. Whole island is really. I always wonder where he put all the bums, junkies, thugs in the 90’s? They just all disappeared with the porn shops |

So your looking at stats(points) to confirm he’s better

but it's gerbe buzz, need to fit his agenda
it has nothing to do with teams trying to clear cap space to sign him |
