He did say that the concussions changed his personality. CTE is a real possibility, and it gets more real with each bump to the noggin - jcragcrumple
Don't even have to hit your head. A missed check and he hits the boards will rattle his skull, a regular check coming to a stop that quickly will rattle his skull, falling on the ice will rattle his skull... |

He should’ve retired
I understand he’s a great guy but risking your life when you have a child and a wife for a game is pretty Selfish - gerbe75pts
I'm sure he's looking at it the other way.
He is earning $ for generations of okposos.
Pretty selfless more than selfish in my opinion |

a concussion can destroy any hockey player's life though
should jack retire when he gets married and spend time with his family, so he does not get a bad concussion?
what about dahlin?
what about casey?
sorry, but every player takes that risk on the ice |

I think okposo's multiple concussions and ECMC visit may put him in a different category?
Its riskier |

His injury history puts him very close to Eric Lindros status. If he gets knocked out one more time... well I don't want to see it. I've seen what one concussion can do to someone. Repeated concussions are not a joke

Hey baseball fans, I have a question. I’m heading to NYC in a week or so and want to see a Yankees game. Our hotel is in Times Square.
1. How do you get to the game in the Bronx via public transportation?
2. How safe is it to get to the game from the subway? Like normal big city keep your eyes open/ scary big city where the cops tell you to get back on the subway/ or charles Bronson in Death Wish 3?
3. Is it a fun place like wrigleyville in Chicago where you can grab a bite and a beer without being accosted?
Planning on going early and taking a tour of the stadium.
Thanks. - Da_Cashman
I was in NYC for work last week and a few of us went to a Yankees game after work one evening. Took a train (w/ 1 transfer) from Rego Park, Queens to Yankee Stadium, Bronx. It was about 45 minutes but you'll be much closer in Manhattan. It's absolutely safe to take the train to the Bronx and the neighborhood is around the stadium is great. Like others have said, you'll be around tourists and Yankee fans. Just follow them right to the front gates when you get off. You can't miss the stadium.
If you ask at the hotel, they'll tell you which train to take to get there and probably give you a map (most decent hotels do this in NYC) - or you could use google maps, which is what we did. I never knew that it could give you directions via subway before last week. Have fun!

As a dad, you do put more pressure on yourself to provide.
I agree with you, he should quit though.
Maybe he needs a intervention?

skinner had similar issues years ago, he is in the clear
sabres have the best doctors money can buy, if there is a way to keep okposo off the ice, would have happened after his "fight" last season

I understand where your coming from but he has probably 15 million of solid good money without taxes etc
And if he needs to work again he can go work for the NHL network or WGR In a couple years
Hell I think he be a good coach someday |
