Using salary projections for next year (assuming growth from all Tampa's RFAs), they're like.. 15M over the cap, with Point at 9M |

Gusev rumors heating up again #VGK #NHL
Hearing some chatter on Devils possibly making strong offer for Gusev #VGK no word if deal happens but seems talks are heating up
*Warning* never used this source before so it's not 100% yet, source did have Simmonds signing through 3rd party.
This dude is on point with all sports rumors. Maybe we find out his new home soon?

Brooks is never wrong about these things - gerbe75pts
Most NY fans feel that Brooks is the biggest hack and makes stuff up all the time just to get readers. That being said, I said this before his article came out that they need to buy him out or trade Kreider without taking salary back. If they do buyout Shattenkirk it will save them about $5m this year, but next year his cap hit will be $6m and $1.4 for the following two years. Not an ideal situation seeing that they only have 7 forwards signed for next season. |

He knows the NYC market really well
I know people give him crap a lot but anything that has to do with the Yankees, Mets, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Jets, Giants, Knicks, and Nets he is pretty money on.
He does get a few Buffalo things right as well |

Dude had (2) nfl suspensions a full day ahead of everyone this past week. He has some good sources, I find his rumors to be fun and accurate. (A rumor does not mean it happens just that it has been talked about internally to happen) |

Sabres have 9 NHL, non waiver exempt Dmen. Who do they trade, where do they go and what is the compensation. And why does that team taking them want them. |

I didn't hate pouliot. Housley however, really hated pouliot - jcragcrumple
I thought he was a good player. Hard to succeed when you are on the s@@t list I guess |

Defiantly a good problem to have. I would not be shocked if we nab gardiner too just to corner the Damn trade market |

Eichel was playing with Girgs instead of Pouliot. Not that it would have made a huge measurable difference, but at least Pouliot could put the biscuit in the basket occasionally |

Dahlin-Risto
McCabe-Montour
Scandella-Miller
Nelson
Hunwick
Bogo and Pilut on IR, Jokiharju sent down. Pilut likely replaces Scandella when healthy, and Hunwick either gets waived or traded for a 6th. Same with Scandella when bogo is ready
Hunwick and Scandella are both reasonable depth for a cup team looking for a 6, 7, or 8 d man depending on injuries |

Botts is also trying to create a competitive environment in camp. Anyone who's name isnt Dahlin shouldn't assume they're going to make the team, even though in sure your top 4 will anyway....

You have the joker sent down ? He will probably be on the first pair by game 20

If he looks good, then I'd expect something like
Dahlin-Risto
*Montour-Miller
McCabe-Joker
Scandella
Nelson
Hunwick traded for a 6th. Jokiharju could keep working his way up
*homie said they were thinking of shifting montour to LD
Realistically there's one spot available for him. I wouldn't assume that Krueger will go with him instead of Scandella or Nelson though. I think he'll be a call up |

Besides signing Myers or karlsson resigned with the sharks
Botts did corner the right hand d market with having Risto. And trading for Joker. And miller. (Sort of montour ) |

I wonder if Yzerman would have done this if he were still running the show. There is no way he is worth that much more than replacement player. - Slump Buster
As with F's and D-men, we are seeing escalating salaries for very very good players.
Vasy is one of them in goal, but he played like poop in the most recent playoffs... odd timing from that perspective, but would likely have cost more next offseason.
It's a gamble, but he is an elite goalie overall. |

This is the catch-22. NHL salaries are very low compared to the other major sports, and at the same time, the salary gap between the great players and the good/very good isn't as wide as it is in other sports. |
