My bad. I mixed the shootout one and the the 3-player line one. For the shootout one it's Player with same birthday vs. Goalie who started for the Stanley Cup champ the year you graduated high school.

For the 3-person line, it's Player born same year as you + Player with same first name as you + player who won Hart the year you were born.

Sorry for the confusion.

It's always what you think might be going on but it sure seems all signs point to Risto getting moved. The Colin Miller trade did it for me. The question is what is his value to teams like Winnipeg, Edmonton and others. I'm not convinced we are getting a guy like Ehlers or even RNH for that matter. I just don't know what we could get for him.

This puts the Rangers at $4m over the cap. I don't think they have any LTIR guys either. I think their only options are to buyout Shattenkirk or trade Kreider without taking on any salary.

Makes sense that the Arbitration period ends before the next moves are made, such that team's are then more certain of where their Cap hit will be, save for teams with unresolved RFA contracts.

Detroit blogger just put up a new blog about the Red Wings adding Finnish dmen. If they are building the future with Finnish players on the back end, perhaps they would be looking to add Risto. With the rumors of TB wanting Risto last season and Yzerman now Detroit's GM, this could have some legs.
