The fanboys are not going to like that. - Marwood
There’s really nothing in this article that wasnt brought up in this blog, could have been anyone that posts here that wrote this. I did like the part off the bat where he talks about people who pay attention to the team know his trades have gotten much better and has put together a good team. Surprised you would comment on this one. |

It was a good trade, but looking at the landscape it certainly feels like Miller could have been had for (a lot) less, and with a few more $$ to play with there is room for another shrewd pickup - RoloTahmasee
I thought so too but then when Buffalo traded for the other Miller and gave up a second and fifth I felt a little different.
These players are not cap dumps , they are actually trading players that would help their new teams. |

He’s maybe worth a pick. Contract is not that great for a regressing player. Trust me, we are experts on regressing players around here - neem55
I don’t think he’s worth some ransom lol but he was traded with kylington for Zucker so there will be a team out there |

I think the shrewdest move of the offseason was Carolina taking Marleau and getting a free 1st
I think the Leafs lack so much depth that pick will be around 20th overall
Assuming they draft a good player, for the cost of a 4.5 million dollar buyout, they will get 3 years of ELC and at least 2 years of bridge out of that player for a ("free"-meaning they didn't give up assets) top 20 pick
That's some good value |

I think another reason that doesn’t get mentioned as much with the Miller trade is that Benning wanted it done before the first so he didn’t have to honor his NTC or whatever he had. Probably could have got him for slightly cheaper later on potentially, but Miller could have rejected it or we would be stuck with another claused contract |

100% a very good move .
Moves like that are a lot easier to do when you have 10 000 fans in the entire state.
Just joking but Carolina has been impressive the last three years with their moves. |

Well Kylington is a hell of a prospect. Also Fenton is an idiot. Got fleeced in pretty much every deal, except the Danato one he did well there |

Carolina has so many "low-key" good players that because they are in Carolina won't be hyped up to overpay contracts
Even Aho, 8.5 Million? All day, every day - Benning can only hope he can get Petts on a contract like that one

Well hope it turns out that this time they picked the Jager potential player and not the Nedved one. |

I mean, obviously Jagr was a special player, but if Podkolzin achieves half as much as Nedved I’d say that’s pretty good. Almost 1000 games, over 700 points, better than .5ppg in 70+ playoff games. |

More about the situation and type of player. Brash and confidence goes a long way. Pods could lead with his talent where Boldy is just the talent. |

They must have decided that core wasnt going to do it, Parise is a bit of an albatross to retool around though |

Notarealfan and the Butthurts.... awesome band name. The new Emo. Probably sound like Yoko Ono on vocals though. |
