What do Hischer and Patrick have to do with McDavid though? I agree they’re a tier above Hischer and Patrick but they’re not generational players. The current generational players probably consist of Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin(maybe)/McDavid. Right under that you have Mathews/Marner/Tavares/Draisaitl/Kucherov(maybe he gets put into the group above)/Stamkos/Hall etc. Maybe putting Kakko/Hughes into that group would be more likely.

I know on this board, the server might crash from all the rage if it happened. However, if you could get a team to take Shatty or Staal with no salary retained, would you give them Kreider as the sweetener?

There's no way in hell I would've given Kreider a 7x7 deal.
