They got his contract, he has a problem with getting old

Kakko isn’t generational. Mcdavid is and kakko is no mcdavid. Either is Hughes

Im not sure if Kakko is a generational player but I can definitely see him be a 35g 70/75 pt player in a similar way like Landeskog.

What do Hischer and Patrick have to do with McDavid though? I agree they’re a tier above Hischer and Patrick but they’re not generational players. The current generational players probably consist of Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin(maybe)/McDavid. Right under that you have Mathews/Marner/Tavares/Draisaitl/Kucherov(maybe he gets put into the group above)/Stamkos/Hall etc. Maybe putting Kakko/Hughes into that group would be more likely.

Kane Gudreau and Mackinnon in there with the generational talents? Or the tier right below? I disagree those 3 are generational talents. Kane might have an argument.

Any buyout that occurs will happen in the final hour because why not wait until the final hour?

Exactly, basically JG has 13 hrs to make a trade though who would trade at this point since a team can just take a flyer with the player as a UFA

The longer this goes on the more I think a trade is lined up.

I just think they would’ve done it by now, not sure why it’s taken so long to make a trade though either. If it’s a trade I bet it’s something none of us saw coming.

Cannot say that there is necessarily anything brewing but a couple of industry sources report that "Kreider's name is out there everywhere." Rangers' buyout window closes at 5 PM tomorrow.

I know on this board, the server might crash from all the rage if it happened. However, if you could get a team to take Shatty or Staal with no salary retained, would you give them Kreider as the sweetener?

There's no way in hell I would've given Kreider a 7x7 deal.

Trade him now and do some wheeling and dealing at the tdl - hopefully we're out of the playoffs talk by then...
