Sounds like he had no takers for the trade chips he was offering, so had to go the buyout route.

I will get up a blog later, jammed at work now. All signs seem to point to Kevin Shattenkirk getting bought out. To me, this was one of the lat options to pursue

Not the route I was hoping they would take, but then I would certainly hope that Gorton & Co. understand this area better than I do!

Mailed it in is an unfair characteriztion. Didnt play well, had injuries but didnt just mail it in. Can criticize his play, but saying mailed it in questions his character, that's unfair.

This must be your best off season ever, signed Trouba and dumped Shattenkirk.

Shatty still here at 6.5 mil next year would have still been dead space

You can make the argument that maybe Adam Fox isn't ready this coming season, but he should be ready for 2020-21

and the way K'Andre Miller looks, he could be ready then too

Would have rather seen Staal bought out. Staal is only ok on the PK. Shatty is better than Staal at this point
