Im really really curious to see the development of K’Andre and Lundkvist. - aecliptic
By the time they get here we should know if ADA is the real deal or not. |

If he doesn't have balls anymore, he has to change his name to Jack Hughes |

He really is. I know it's only one season and it's not like it was a high bar to clear, but he was our best d by like a lot last year. |

Jan Levine: Larry Brooks on Shattenkirk, Kreider etc... - my take
Buyout period starts Monday, who will go? - airjan23
Classic Americans, always spending money they don't have, now dealing with the consequences. Hopefully Trouba and Breadboy can thrust you back into playoffs. Havn't even heard a peep about the DeAngelo negotiations. The kid looked great and doesn't even have a roster spot with all those RD in the mix. |

The American way is to spend money we don't have and then just kick the can so our grandchildren deal with it. Rinse and repeat.
ADA should have a roster spot, but competition is never bad. If Fox out performs ADA that's a good problem to have in theory, not a bad one. I drink the ADA kool-aid as much as anyone, but I think pushing him would only help him. |

I just want these young Dmen, like ADA, to want to be as responsible in their own end, as much as they want to put it in in the other end. |

ADA reminds me of Delzotto. I think he has 1 good year in him and then we sell high on him to bring in a Veteran Dman (like Klein) once Staal/Shatty/Smith are gone.
I think Fox is more in the long-term plans than ADA is
Call me crazy but buying out Shatty is a dumb move. If he heals up and improves even the slightest amount he will fetch a Zucc-esqe return at 2021 trade deadline as a rental to a Contender. Same with Staal if we can convince him to waive his NMC in his walk year
Contending teams load up on Vet Dmen at the TDL. Staal and Shatty will be our trade chips in 2021 |

Trouba/ADA/Fox in that order is great. Is Shatts really beyond trading? Even if you retain 1-2M AAV? |

Based on the Rangers' history, they should never sign big name UFAs. The only one I can think of that worked out was Wayne Gretzky and I guess Chris Druery to a lesser extent.
Look at their history:
Fleury, Holik, Gomez, Redden, Richards, and now Shattenkirk.
It has to leave you a little worried about Artemi Panarin.

To answer your question, no he isn't. What is really hurting us, is we really can't wait around to make a decision on what to do. Whoever we decide to buy out has to be done by Wednesday. That's putting the spurs to us. |

Not really. All of the above mentioned UFA were either 30 and older or just "good" players. Panarin is 27 and already it elite. Different player. We will see if the curse continues though. |

None of those guys were in their primes and had as much uspide. Also, many teams wanted him as well. Those names you mentioned were none of that. Shatty can still be a player...this season will tell the tale. |

Also Gomez put up 60 points and got us McD. Gabby was a good signing and scored 40 twice |
