It's nuts really. Is there any team in the division where you see it on the schedule and are like, yeah there's a win? I don't think any team including ours is going to be an easy out for anyone. There's just no clear cut bottom feeder. - 2sticks1puck
Just one - NY Rangers!!!!!
...if only. |

Now that the Gusev deal is complete ---- lets hope that he is more Nigel Dawes 2.0 rather than Panarin... |

2.0 seems right as Gusev over double Nichushkin's KHL PPG. |

Buy out/trade Lundqvist? It would solve everything. We already have two other goalies that are NHL caliber, one possible super star in Shestyorkin. |

How do you know theyre NHL caliber? Shestyorkin hasnt played not even 1 minute on NHL ice. Georgiev has been a solid back up but legit #1 Id be apprehensive to call him. |

Why are you bummed? Hes an undersized career KHLer who got 4.5m just cause of curiosity. Were doing just fine without taking that gamble. |

Not sure what basis that is on. Guys entering the league from there as rookies have succeeded. We have one of them
It’s foolish to believe Gusev can’t possibly be good in the NHL |

I cant think of a single person who transition in the middle of their career to the NHL from the KHL and succeeded. |

Dadonov just did it, and Gusev had better numbers + is younger. |

Blueshirt Banter put together a list a few days ago with their top 24 Rangers under 24. They had Kakko Chytil Kravtsov Miller Shestyorkin as the top 5, ADA 6, Fox 7, Nils 8, Andersson 9, Howden 10. |
|
|
|
Regarding the Rangers/Devils arms race I have it like this:
Kakko/Hughes - Equal, maybe a slight edge to Kakko this year. I expect both to have similar numbers by years end.
Trouba/Subban - Trouba by a slight margin.
Panarin/Gusev - Panarin, proven in the NHL. Gusev is a big question mark, I think he’ll be decent/good but not 75+ points like Panarin. I think if Gusev scores 50-55 points that’s a big win for a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Biggest question is 4.5 for 50 points better than 11.6 for 80 points? |

Georgiev definitely not a legit #1 for our club, but at least a 1B. Shestyorkin’s 30ish games each as the #1 goalie in the league of the last 3 years in the KHL at least puts him as a 1A, IMO. |

Dadonov played North American hockey at AHL and NHL levels from 2009 to 2012 then left for 5 years to get his poop together, and also the organization was aweful at that time. |
