Do you pay attention? Winnipeg only has 13M in cap space. Need to sign Connor and Laine. The Habs, IF they get Laine, will NOT be paying market value! It’s Winnipeg who is screwed against the cap! Or we’ll take Connor instead! - DodgeSoups
Winnipeg has 17.5MM in cap space. they need to sign Laine and Conner and bring in two other forwards, probably at or close to league min or entry level deals. They should be fine |

I am told the Leafs and Marner talks could shift drastically if there isn't movement by the end of July. How? "The trade route will have to be taken more seriously and Marner's group is aware of that shift. The Leafs aren't screwing around." |

Shouldn't you know something, anything at all about a team in order to comment on their assets? Domi, Kotkaniemi, Poehling, Suzuki, Caufield, Brook, Primeau, Juulsen, Fleury, Romanov.
But you're right, Montreal doesn't have anything to trade.

Domi is the only player in your list that is worth anything but even Domi, a 1st, and a B prospect isn't even close to being worth Laine. Anything short of Domi, Caufield, a 1st round pick AND an A level prospect for Laine is a joke. Laine is a franchise player who's gonna score close to 50 goals a year and he's still only 21. That kind of player does NOT come along often enough for some bullcrap package that Habs fans keep throwing out. |

Being a longtime and diehard fan, we are able to say "we" when referring to our team whereas your fanbase is so fair weather you're not able to
It's really only for fans who stick by their teams through the thick and thin, not jump ship when their teams are poor or in a rebuild/retool then all the sudden conveniently put your cape back on when you deem fit and they become relevant again

Nobody is saying it's the best contract ever, it's the going rate for Elite goalies and taking the tax disadvantage that handicaps Canadian teams in to account
(that Buttman doesn't seem to think is a huge issue for some reason...I wonder why..we all know why)
Bob gets 10M and Vasi gets 9.5M in markets that have no tax and you're sitting here trying to tell me that Price making a mill more is so outrageous. Get the (frank) out with that bullpoop
You're just an anti-Pricer, you cry that we paid that much to keep him here yet you'd be whining that we don't have a goalie if we had just let him walk - Komisaurus Rex
Sally are you triggered, again.
You are going to put yourself on blood pressure meds if you are not careful.
The Price contract is horrible.

My bad..... still, 2 more forwards at 1M each, leaves 15.5... Laine and Conner will each be in the 9M range.
Either way, Winnipeg is still trading from a point of weakness. Whoever they sign first (Laine or Conner), the other is gone, via crap value trade or offer sheet. Winnipeg has no salary to dump anywhere. Unless they trade a good roster player. Whether it’s the Habs, or someone else, Winnipeg is losing a high end player. |

A few intelligent fans refusing to pay an arm and a leg to not only attend the games but pay out their bumhole for food and beer in one of their worst seasons in recent history is your rebuttal?

I'm not sure here, so more of an inquiry.
Do you really think either one of those 2 is taking less than 8M?
And then they have to sign D next year.
So next year they have ~68M commited but only Buff and Pionk signed on D, going to be tight and decisions have to be made.
I doubt they get full value for Laine (I'm hoping) |

You have no clue on how to rate prospects. You also don't seem to be aware of Laine's weaknesses and you declare that he'll be a 50 goal scorer as if there's any way you'd know that. |

Seems like this could be dominoes here. Tampa was obviously focussed on Vasilevsky first, and Point second, just as Ek reported. Now Point can follow. Ek says the Flames want to see Point's number before finalizing things with Tkachuk. I think after Point and Tkachuk are locked up then guys like Rantanen, Laine, and Marner could soon follow.
But still could see offer sheets for guys like Brendan Perlini or Anthony Beauvillier. Still a lot left to the summer. |

I think next year they'll really only have Morissey in line for a nice raise. They probably let Kulikov walk. Probabaly retain Beaulieu and Niku for sure, both will be relatively cheap deals. It's a lot of guess work but I don't think it's too dire.
I bet they'd like to get rid of the Little or Perrault contracts, that's where they take a loss in a trade. Either this year or next summer.
Let's say they've got 15MM to get Laine and Connor signed this year. Neither is a 10MM/year player. I don't think Connor gets 7/year. Leaves you with 8+ for Laine.
Again a lot of guesses but I think they can keep the group pretty well together going forward. This is clearly just my opinion too. |

Holy poop, you really are terrible at trolling, aren't you?
FFS, the Leafs have been franking horrible for 50 years, and there's still a 200 year waiting list for season tickets.
Hell, the problem with Leafs fans is that they've been far too loyal over the years.
