That's what I figure also. I don't believe it is a generational draft at all . It could be a little better than this years or a little worst but every one of the top twenty picks is not going to be a top line player. - VANTEL
Nobody said that.
However, when you look at some of the better drafts in history there are few busts and the list of multiple game all-star players is long. I'd rather they miss the playoffs this year and make it next which is a likely scenario. |

I don't mind the JTM trade personally. I'd rather do JTM (actual NHL games and 5.25M) for a 1st vs gusev for a 2 and 3 at 4.5 for only 2 years. - canucksfan1944
1st and a 3rd, at least get it right |

I don't have a preference of which draft to miss. I think with the skill levels of kids these days all drafts will be good. Like I said I have seen Lafreniere play a few times. He is good but I can see the following draft have another equal player .

I honestly want to know when did a rebuild begin? - VANTEL

So Brock , Dmko , Jake , and Petey are not part of the rebuild? |

Ok, they never actually started a rebuild. Those players are a result of retooling on the fly while remaining “competitive”
So no, none of those players are part of a rebuild. |

His own draft has at least 2 equal players IMO. |

Maybe but when did the Canucks ever pick in the top 3 during the lotto era. They have more luck finding the gems that shine after getting picked. |

Yyyyyyeah, I’m just going to stop talking about this draft until people actually look into & become familiar with the class. |

The ultimate question, of life the universe and everything - Canuck édition.
If Benning had actually convinced ownership (when he was hired) that a rebuild was required, would the team be just where they are right now (Hughes, Petey, Boeser, Woo, Podsey, Hogey etc) or would they be cup contenders (or more on their way)?
Obviously, no one knows for sure, but what do you think?
Personally, I don’t think things would be much different, which is why Benning should be fired. |

After seeing years of being bad , tanking and good drafting the Leafs have not made it out of the first round.
Oilers have drafted 4 x first picks and have not come close.
Winning it all is more than tanking and drafting

Isn't it past your bedtime grandpa?
I could start debating about this, it's morning here, but you'd be up all night with counter arguments |

We’ve gotten pretty good at missing the playoffs, this is still a bubble team so as much as management is hoping for a different outcome the central hasn’t really gotten any weaker |

We should be focused on moving up to get Raymond, what could possibly go wrong? |

I cannot see TBL signing Point anytime soon
Many teams are waiting for the shoe to drop on signings having some roster juggling yet to do. I agree with VANTEL we will see JB swing another trade. |
