I know I’m dreaming but would love a ghost+ package for Laine

Well, that makes one of us. The "+" is very mysterious.

Won't affect the Provorov negotiations.
- MJL

This will affect the big 3 RFA dmen, any thoughts of getting them under contract at $6M just got thrown out the window.

I'm afraid the plus would be pretty big.

I dont think that was ever a thought anyway, was it? I always thought the number started at the bare minimum at 6.5

Some folks did, i'm in agreement with the $6.5-$7 range. Boston's situation is trickier, he's missed significant times in both his NHL seasons but this Girard contract just helped him out.

Can't you guys read? This will have no impact on the Provorov extension whatsoever.

He probably wasn’t anyway. I think that’s the number.

Just saw Butcher got 3/11.2. Pretty reasonable.

Even if it was 6.5 a year the deal would be done. Its clear the Provorov camp wants a 7mill+/year deal. Get ready for it.

id be happy if he signed an 8 year deal with a 7.25 mil AAV. I think thats more than fair, especially with his dip in performance last year. He did rebound in the second half, but that shows some inconsistency which should go in the Flyers favor. and for a guy who has only played 3 years, getting 7.25 mil a year is awesome. Get it done Fletch!

They should all have red wigs and be known for being great veteran presences in the locker room.

Thanks, sometimes it is hard to tell which direction the shade is being thrown on a particular day...But I would like to know why MJL thinks the two contracts can't be related...

Can you explain why you think this?

Because I absolutely think it will effect the Provorov number.
