Bill, you should email a copy of your blog today to Tanner. He could use an education on the basics of hockey and player management. - Sublime55
This!
I couldn’t respond to his drivel. An error message comes up saying “Thread does not exist”. It might be his way of spewing misguided opinions as fact, then shutting down opposing responses.
Bill’s blog was spot on. Hexy has always been one of my favorite Flyers. The flaws that arose, are correctable, and usually come with experience. If love for him to get another shot! |

The board got locked down quick yesterday after I and a few other posters explained how absurd his comments on hextall were and a few other posters noted that his blog had some sexist comments |

The Girard deal is more team-friendly than player friendly in the long term (as long as he keeps developing as hoped). It doesn't kick in until 2020-21, which means he is giving up three years of UFA eligibility on the back end. |

Looking forward to the new season. No doubt I see key parts replacing lacking needs for the Flyers. Will be interesting to see the final 6 starting defenseman and how that all shakes out through camp. Looking forward to seeing the lines come together and seeing where maybe some unconventional chemistry might spark. |

Thanks for the response. Glad you were able to give him the literary beatdown! He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, but HE thinks he’s smarter than everyone else. That’s the worst kind of jabrone to be lectured by!!

Yeah, I heard it was shut down regarding potentially sexist comments (didn’t see it, so I can’t say), but I did hear a few of you guys roasted him badly for his assessment
Well done. |

This will affect the big 3 RFA dmen, any thoughts of getting them under contract at $6M just got thrown out the window. - ClaudeFather
Nope, no effect. There never was any thought of getting any of them for under 6M. |

I'm sure he didnt enjoy me pointing out (with links to articles as proof) that Hexy actually used analytics and in fact established an analytical department for the Flyers |

He's making fun of MJLs comment - bulet13
Some are just uninformed and somehow think that a lesser player signing this deal is going to have an effect on Provorov's next deal. It isn't. Provorov is in a higher market and is a better player. |

Can you explain why you think this?
Because I absolutely think it will effect the Provorov number. - MBFlyerfan
Provorov is a better player and is in a higher market. Any discussion with Provorov and 5M a year is a non starter. It doesn't in any way set the market for Provorov. |

I wasn't thinking along those lines at all. To me this deal pushes Provorov up over 7. Nobody is thinking the Provorov contract would be comparable. Only in that, if this guy is worth this, then Provorov is worth much more.

Yes, all of us were thinking this but MJL is a superhero and thinks we were comparing Provy to $5M, smh |

No one said under, I said at, and it was referring to a starting point. This deal 100% drove the cost of the big 3 up. you are misinformed and misread. |

You're incorrect. I dont think anyone is comparing anything. I think what I said. Provorov's market was already above 5M. |

Hextall built an analytical department, and completely refreshed a talent pool that was starved for any top line or defensive pairing potential.
He didn’t do everything well, but what he did excel at, he accomplished better than most.
A little tweak here and there, with some better communication skills, and he’ll be a fine GM.
Some people are just always going to dislike him, well, because quite frankly he’s Hexy. |

I see your point now and agree in both your statements that Provy is significantly better and 5M is not the bar for him...makes sense now... |
