All contact sport in general players understand the risk and some never have any serious problems and a few select players have career ending injury.

IMO the NHL salary cap next year will force teams to make hard decisions.

Now with that being a starting point , Crawford hasntmplayed at a elite level in a few years, he is 35 years old and has had 2 concussions , and last year was telling from his speech at the convention that something was seriously wrong, yes he did come back amdmplay but his play wasn't at a elite level and suffered another serious concussions.

Even if you think one of those kids might be ready to bring up , you need a veteran backup who is reliable and can play as a starter if need be.

Stan is on the hot seat if Chicago makes the playoffs and he retainsnhis job , then goes ahead and resigns Crawford knowing his history it's a business and Lehner if he proves he can play my money is on him to be resigned.

Whole league knows he has a weak glove, only by luck does he possess Stanley cup rings

Weakest goalie to ever win a Cup or two in the modern era.

It's unfortunate those goals he let in vs AZ in the 2011 playoffs because I think that cemented it for a lot of people. I can't hardly watch the boys with one of my favorite people (my cousin) because every goal Crow let's in no matter how many deflections or traffic in front, the first thing out of my cousin's mouth is "crappy Crawford" drives me nuts. He promised to cut it out forever if Crow won another Cup. Let's just be kind to my cousin and say only Crawford held up his end of that deal. And I will remind anyone else who forgets that the Hawks do not win those last two without having the best goalie

Yes, indeed. Crow's money.

He only missed about half the season...
- rpeters01

Your friend said he hasn't played at an elite level for several years. He was wrong.

Had he argued Crow missed a lot of games, he'd have been right. Alas, he didn't.

Pretty good song, too, even if it didn’t make the movie.

* Crawford will have a strong challenger for his job. The competition should bring out the best in him. But his post concussion history should be enough for him to push himself to his best. Perhaps there is a lingering effect from the last concussion? I believe we don't think it was a bad concussion late last season. But you never know the severity each time.

Crawford is not NOT too old to excel for at least one more season. I hate how the players do not police their conduct and therefore goalmouth crashing the net happens too frequently. The solution of course is an offender who causes a goaltender concussion, is suspended as long as the goaltender is out of action. Fair is fair. If you cannot charge net and keep balance or from colliding with goaltender, then let this play become extinct. Do this play in a modified version. I do not want my team scoring if it meant hurting the opposing netminder. Charging the net is part of hockey?-- sure -- but no place for the injuries it causes. Hockey is a rough sport. Yes it is. Too rough and needs severe penalty for goaltenders who become concussed.

And to naysayers Crawford became elite or right next to the very best netminders-
.
Remember shutout game six Stanley Cup 2015

Following season he was choosen by Bancock one of his three goaltenders on Olympic Team. Weak glove? Cmon' his glove was not an issue else he never became as good as he was. Was. Probably still can be.....as long as he isn't playing scared of goalmouth collisions. What he was bad at back.in 2010 was his puck handling. Bad when in AHL. I am uncertain how he is with puck handling now becsuse i haven"t paid close attention to this aspect to say one way or another.

Sikura who? Never heard of him
- Assman22

Don`t expect him to be a top line scorer. But right now don`t think he could score if he was shooting at a soccer net.

If 3c is your biggest problem you have one heck of a team... I feel your pain trying to reason with the Crow fan club. You'd think he was Bobby Hull.

Yes he did...at Johnnys Ice House in their "Elite" league last Thursday night... That Foster game was a blast to watch though. Happy for him and our team that he made the 7 stops. Like he said...keep plugging away in men's league and one day you might get your shot lol

Maybe a bit. At least we're all allowed to have discussion and our own views, good or bad. In the old days I seem to remember the former blogger getting testy if you dared get a bit giddy about your 3 time SC winning team.

He also got a tad surly if anyone commented positively on a young player, especially Saad or The Cat. He hated young players more than Q.

He also was very slow to accept Crow, but at least he did. Eventually.

Well it certainly doesn't help for hits on a trade rumor blog if the damn draft picks start filling holes that are the subject of said trade rumors now does it?
