There was some article or tweet or something that mentioned that Gardiner had a handshake deal with a team, but needed to wait for them to clear out a high priced D. Some people here thought it was Buffalo (Risto) while others thought it was NYR (Shat). - ajb2493
I saw that, didn’t know if there was a new rumor today |

numbers weren't released. not all of them are. Friedman seems to have the line to the front offices. Maybe he just seeks out who actually matters. |

So at 8-8 would you fire McBeane? - sbroads24
No but someone like Leslie Frazier will pay the PRICE
The Bills mgmt is in a different spot. They've made the playoffs. |

So because Andy Dalton made a miraculous play, the Bills management gets a longer leash?
Seems odd to give them more time based on luck.

9 potential arb hearings. Sabres are 4 of those. I don't even know what to make of that. These are auxiliary players, so it probably doesn't matter, but I'm going to be irritated if he takes Reinhart to arb next year. - TheSabresTaco
That Botterill is a notoriously cheap lowballer. |

Maybe he’s using these opportunities to hone his negotiating skills and practicing for when it really matters. Just a thought. |

Projected starting center Morris in concussion protocol after sitting 5 games last year with same, making it his 5th or 6th concussion suffered over the past 3 seasons or so. Not good.
Backup center Long has nerve damage to the hand he uses to hike the ball. Not Good.
3rd string center R Bodine is, well, is Russel Bodine. Not good.
They better hope they can find a way for Morris to not experience more concussions. - IonSabres

If we go to the playoffs because Girgensons hammers a slapper that hits Larry in the peepee and deflects in during the last game of the year, Botterill will get the same kudos from me as winning the division by 30 points |

I used poopy math to put the buyout of Shattenkirk and handshake deal with Gardiner together. |

And you don’t see the issue with that logic?
Not trying to Fitzy-esque berate you here...
But if the Bills look like they are on the rise, and they miss because they happen to play in the Pats division, then I want to see the next step.
If the Sabres get to 83-85 points, and are on the positive side of important statistical measurements, I wanna see the next step.
I think most people would say no matter what happens outside of a 2-14,3-13 year that McBeane is pretty safe for another year at least. But one lucky game in Baltimore that the Bills had no part in shouldn’t grant them an extended stay |

I would say 3-13 with a full roster gets them fired, and that's about it. If this team goes 3-13 it's because of injuries to major players.
I am pretty sure firing Housley alone bought Botterill another year.

83 points is 3.5 wins better than last year. That's not improvement imo |

3 went to arb meetings. 6 more remain unsigned. So, at most 9 meetings, at very least, 1 (Elie) |

There is also the continuity factor that the Pegula's are craving.
If there isn't a GLARING (in my opinion something like a last place finish with a full lineup like you've suggested) issue, there will not be any major changes.
It could turn the heat on low under the seats of McBeane and Botterill, but I highly doubt there are any major instances where either organization is under dramatic pressure this year.
Yes Pegula said it's time to win this year, but he's said that the past few years.
To me, it seems that the owners are pushing for continuity and will look for any positives to keep their management teams in place. |

We're right up against the cap with Ullmark and McCabe. Perhaps he knows the arb number will be lower than anything they agree to. It's my best guess.
I don't understand why he hasn't dumped a single contract yet. |

yeesh. come on man. no.
All I'm saying is that 4 out the 9 players that either haven't went to a meeting yet, or have had their hearing, are Sabres.
And seperate from that, arbitration is a rough process for both team and player. I would prefer that one of our core players does not need to go through that. |

No matter how many times u say ppl here are supposedly “ok with us being bad again”
I can assure u,
We’ll all be upset if we finish with 80ish points
