Wrong.
DGAF anymore.
You guys can speculate all you want as to why this non essential player wasn't signed to an extension mid season.
And for those using the word, "arbiter", you're wrong. It's "arbitrator".
Carry on.

That might be the only reason I am in favor of a downtown stadium. If done right, it can give the city a much-needed facelift. A convention center, if done right can too. - buffalofan19
I know it is a pain in the ass to get out of the stadium in Jacksonville
I don't think Buffalo has the infrastructure downtown that can handle 65,000 people leaving at once |

But I guess comparing Nashville to Buffalo is apples to oranges.
idk much about Jackoffville. - jochfr

I agree , another low ball offer - Boss34
The McCabe one is not a ridiculous team ask imo. It's low but not insultingly so.
I think Ullmark's offer is a little insulting to be honest. $800k is ELC money, not a legit ask for a 26 year old with 60 games played and a .910 sv%
Marty was saying on the instigators that this could be one of those "bad" arbitration hearings. We don't need a demoralized goalie whose team says he sucks |

That's why I said "if done right". That would have to be a factor and a consideration. |

Seems like the Sabres are pushing the "Sabres dance" as the song they play while entering the ice.

The stadium would need to have a metro rail station built in. And they would probably need to buy more trains |

Good post,
Although McCabe didnt share ice time as a rookie last season, as did ullmark.
Interesting what the ARBITER says |

Team goes low, player goes high,
Arbitrator usually picks close to the middle
Kinda seems pointless - jdfitz77
Pretty much...so like $3.1m
I wonder if his injury history/games played gets factored in to reduce e that by say ~10%+/-
...to something like $2.8m
Seems reasonable...probably why they won't, lol. |

Speaking of Jacksonville:

All of that crap they talked about the city of Buffalo when the two teams met in the playoffs and now they're asking for help

he could say the same about downtown jacksonville, and he would not be wrong
he needs to win florida so he doesn't talk about it

Wacked out?
McCabe averages 20 min per game.
Plays penalty kill
Brings physicality
Is productive “when healthy”
That is his only knock.
McCabe is 3.75 per IMO. - ImThatGuy
Nurse and Zadorov are both a year younger and are better players both signed for $3.2m. Will Butcher just signed for $3.5m and Sanheim for $3.2m. So yes, his ask is whacked. The Sabres offer is low, but that is how negotiations work. And even if it is low, it is still more than a $300k raise for a player that couldn't manage to stay healthy for even 60 games the last two years. Also, over the last three years he's been on the ice for an average of more than a goal per game. |

He's going to win Florida. I think the midterms proved he has the state in his back pocket.
It's the Big Ten states (PA, OH, MI, MN, WI) that are going to decide this election. |

You may be right with your projection, who knows.
IMO, his value playing 82 games or so is about $3.25.
Playing only 80% of the games over last 2 years should trim that back, again IMO.
WGR talked about it, Zadorov is a pretty good comparable at $3.2...but he has played about 20% more games.
We shall see. |

If the Sabres were in a playoff push, he wouldn't have been shut down for the season. He would have played through it. Not sure they can use that against him |

McCabe
Team ask 1.95
Player ask 4.3
Another low ball Offer. - ImThatGuy
So now we are bashing the putz for playing hardball using the only tactical negotiation tactic he has ? RFA’s have no leverage, if they want more then their qualifying offer they can go to arbitration. If they want to go to arbitration that is their right. Botts already bent over for Skinner, damn right he should penny pinch on the RFA’s. When they become UFA’s do you think they’ll give us a discount or go get their “fair market value” ?
Which in most cases is vastly overpaid. |

At some point, you need a stable Fortune-500 type of business to stabilize the economy, though. No economy thrives on restaurants/establishments alone. Its best bet is for one of these start-ups to hit it big. Unfortunately, even that's not a guarantee, because usually when a start-up starts to add real value, a much bigger company buys it up, or at least the intellectual property. - buffalofan19
