The deal the Sabres offered was a 2 way of 700/300. Elie didn't sign it until after the arb, because Elie fought for a 1 way contract of an unknown salary, probably 750/750. Either the arb unofficially told his agent that he lost the 1 way argument, or his camp already had the sense that they lost, so Elie signed his 2 way minimum league salary contract and got a decent paycheck still for Rochester.

His QO was $771,750. Had he signed it, he'd get that much, but the Sabres were fully on board with a 2 way deal. So it'd be 771,750/300. He went to arb to get a 1 way and lost. So now he lost 70K on a gamble.

I lived in Orange County for 16 years. Felt a handful of earthquakes, had soot from fires twice.

Cost of living is why I left.

If I were to live in the same apartment community in California that I live in now, I would be paying $800 more for a studio, than I am currently for a 2 master suite apartment with attached garage.

It's unbelievable how much the cost of living is. My take home pay was significantly less than what I am taking home now, for roughly the same income.
