Ullmark has a lot of quality traits and in the end he did play in a career-high 37 games for the Sabres but on many occasions he certainly looked like a novice between the pipes.

Lots of flopping. Lots of issues with rebound control.

Give him $1.2 and then get 6K cracking on making the Sabres lineup for 20-21.

6K is going to take awhile to recover from his surgery. I wouldn’t bet he will be great this year in Rochester.

Also Ullmark will get better. I’m not really worried. He did it in Rochester. From year 1 to year 2

I'd like to think Botts is trying to get a prove it deal for Ullmark, but Ullmark may be looking for more security.

Hopefully there is some common ground to be found between the two sides.

Supposedly, they plan on starting to cover Premier League soccer, which opens up a subscriber base in Europe. That's the only way I can see it happen. That can't be cheap, though. They've got some heavy hitters in the financial sector behind them, though. These people don't invest in something on a whim, and they've raised $90 million. Usually, when this kind of capital is raised by these types, they're either aiming for a sale or aiming to be a billion dollar revenue type of company (which is unlikely).

Rebound control is on him. However, the play in front of him and hutton would cause anyone to flop.

Please address this:

Botterill has made 18 draft picks in 3 years

GMTM made 16 draft picks in 2 years

One is supposedly building it "the right way"

- jcragcrumple

This narrative where jbotts inst doing enough is ridiculous.

The team looks much better already. It's still July.

Pegula has his back, unless we finish with fewer points then last year.
If there is one thing they learned, it's not turning over management constantly. (Hopefully)

just keep low balling these guys and watch the sabres get a worse reputation then they already have

terry needs to drill that well as it is becoming clear the money is no object anymore for the sabres was a lie

Dude, seriously, chill. You know QO's are a set thing right?

The qualifying offer is calculated from the players base salary (NHL salary minus signing bonus), and at minimum must meet the seasons minimum salary requirements:

110% of the base salary if the base salary is less than or equal to $660,000
105% of the base salary if the base salary is greater than $660,000 or less than
$1,000,000. However, this qualifying offer cannot exceed $1,000,000.
100% of the base salary if the base salary is equal to or greater than $1,000,000.

Those are the minimums, right? I think you can issue a QO above that, but you can't issue a QO for a pay decrease. that being said, I don't really think he is low-balling. I think it is more posturing for the arb decision. Same as what the player does.

The defense in front of him fell apart terribly.

But in the second half of the season, maybe as a result of desperation, Linus lost his goal crease WAY too many times.

Hutton went down too early but I don't recall him being horribly out of position like Linus was.

"The one thing I think about is it’s time to start winning. That’s why we’re here," Pegula said during an interview with The Associated Press while sitting next to his wife and team president, Kim, a few hours before the start of the NHL draft in Vancouver.

"We have Ralph on board and some young players, leaders, Jack," he said, referring to newly hired coach Ralph Krueger and team captain Jack Eichel. "So it’s time to put it all together."

- jcragcrumple

He kinda HAS to say that, no? He can't come out and say, "we're not really trying this year either, but please still buy tickets".

No, the qualifying offer is a set amount based on the players previous salary.

No, Darcy said that for him in '12

Maybe he is 95% safe, and maybe that's the right thing to do, irrespective of the outcome of the season. I just don't feel that way.

Better then crying day in and day about what jbotts hasnt done in July.

He has already made significant changes, give it a rest

agreed...

however, both seemed to be overcompensating for the train wreck that was in front of them
