Botts deserves some criticism. The RoR trade was a big deal for this franchise and while I don't know if that was the max return he was offered, it wasn't worth it most likely. I am higher on Tage than most too.
My only critique of Botts is that I think he should have tried to make a move after that 10 game losing streak. We were still in the hunt and could have used a boost. Maybe it would have turned something around. This is speculative and I like what he's done overall. Just think he can also be poked a bit, it hasn't been all sunshine and daisies. - RhinoFan
yes he does deserve some criticism
he brought in scandella, hunwick, sobotka, beaulieu, wilson,
he also retained lockport larry, girgens, and elie
everyone knew the team was overachieving and in first place in the nhl standings, and botts did nothing to keep the momentum before the winter freeze
these are not moves that get us closer to the playoffs IMO
the good, rochester and the pipeline
skinner
and honestly from the montour trade forward, can't knock the additions
Still think it's a case of addition by subtraction for the next 6 to 8 weeks |

How many Murray players are actually still with the Sabres? I bet that number is really low. - Sabretooth9[url]
eichel, reinhart, okposo, bogo, mccabe, risto, e-rod, girgens, larsson, nelson, ullmark

nothing good comes from going to arbitration, when your home team bashes you and tries to make you worthless
imagine if we all had to deal with this demeaning at our jobs once a year - homiedclown
That's the system that was set up.
The Blues had 5 players, Flames 4, Avs 3, Canadiens 3, and Devils 3. Some teams had none.
It's just the nature of the beast. |

Next year I expect a lot of those players to be gone. |

Every GM does at some point I fail to see what he’s done that’s remotely close to a fireable offense.
The depth from the 2014-16 drafts never came. - sbroads24
Agree, nothing fireable and he had a pretty depleted roster to work with. |

there is no reason for e rod or ullmark to go to arbitration, which is my point
everyone know e-rod was going to get close to 2 per
everyone knows ullmark is going to get 1.5 to 1.75 per
mccabe, different story, as he could go as low as 2.4 per and as high as 3.5 per |

I'd argue that most of those guys were short term fill ins while he built a real roster. None of them were costly. Two were cap dumps to acquire other players (Slowbotka and Hunwick).
Larsson has value and should have been qualified. Girgs and Elie, who cares. Girgs I can see the argument, Elie you're right. At the end of the day though all of this is small peanuts compared to the Skinner, Montour, Miller, Jokiharju, Vesey and MoJo acquisitions.
I guess I'd say that if that's the worst he's done (outside RoR), he's been fairly successful given what he started with. Now I want to see it work. If we're bottom 5 next season, it really doesn't matter. Time for results. |

Hello there, I've got 3 used cars on my lot of 6 cars.. not worth a whole lot, but they'll still get ya from point A to point B. Typically, I'd ask for some kind of payout, but I'm feeling generous, so fck it, you can have 'em for free. |

I'd take any 3 college free agents behind the curtain over bringing those 3 back |

Dahlin should not play with montour. He doesn’t fit his style. Dahlin can be as aggressive. That’s why him and bogo worked well. Bogo just stayed back and dahlin free wheeled.
With montour, he was not nearly as aggressive |

Linus Ullmark has requested a salary of $2.65 million in salary arbitration.
The Buffalo Sabres are countering with a salary request of $800,000. Ullmark and Buffalo have an arbitration hearing scheduled for Friday, unless the two sides can agree to a compromise before then. He posted a 15-14-5 record, 3.11 GAA, and .905 save percentage in 37 contests in 2018-19.
F him, let him walk. |
