I suppose there are fans who just don't like a certain players game. This wasn't aimed at them.
It was meaning those who don't get that players like Dorset are necessary for team success, not just goal scoring.

How so? For regular season PIMs and never-quit attitude?

If that's the case then his best year was back in 2011/12 with 12 8 20 235. He had his best point season with the canucks his first year with 25 total points.

In the playoffs, he has more PIMs than TOI. Is that a key to success?

I'm not seeing what's so special about his game and definitely wouldn't categorize his skills as 'must have'.

I look at it this way. Every off season they bring in 3 or 4 new guys. Folks get all fired up with high expectations. Then only 1 or 2 of the new additions comes close to expectations.
So, out of Miller, Myers, Ferland or Benn, who is going to suck weasal nuts and be the scapegoats for failure by the end of the season?

- Marwood

quinn hughes is the big add, chalk it all up how you want

I don’t hate him, I hated the pick. & I don’t agree with the common assessment of his talents/how they’ll translate. I love his compete... I think he’s going to be a nice middle 6 contributor. But you don’t target that at 10 unless the elite skillsets are all gone. If the Canucks believe he has an elite skillset, great! We’ll see! IMO he’s an overdrafted version of the Rees/Grewe skillset I wanted addressed with our #40 pick. Hoglander should have been gone in the teens. That was a goddamn steal at #40. So at the end of the day, IMO, we actually got a top line ceiling guy @40 and a great middle 6 guy @10. (Sorry for the textblock, hope it made some sense.)
- DrChristianTroy

ya that makes sense. I see power forward with an elite shot. But i am a glass half full guy and I understand your reluctance. he is still just a prospect

Dorsett was complete garbage, he managed to punch way above his weight scoring wise before he went down for good but was a complete defensive liability. having guys that are not good but work hard is not at all the key to anything. every type of job has that type, god bless them for working hard but they just dont have the ability. hockey is no different.

My favourite was against Boris Valábik. Not just because of the fight but also the interview after with Bieksa and how he said they all felt bad for Valabik because he had no idea what he was getting into.
- Shuswap Wap

I remember that fight as well. Ryp was about the only fighter that I can remember, that used his height as an advantage during fights. It was unreal.

You really nailed it....he should keep his misery to himself. Personally i don't think in his condition he should allowed in public or online.
It's funny how he whines about nuck4u but he was the issue all along. He just loves to whine and cry all day because of his own problems

And you're right he shows up and destroys the thread daily. Instead he should go see a professional so he whine daily and have them give him drugs

Didn't you go crying to the mods that I was giving you anxiety and you were scared to come here. For such a tough guy, lady slayer, you sure do blubber a lot.

Right, it hasn't worked for the oilers at all. All those premium picks and they are basement dwellers
- SMBDragon

Top 10 picks are great and all but sooner or later (like the Oilers) it just becomes redundant. We've had our run at top ten picks and now it's over. Time to build accordingly. Except for the types that want this club to fail for another decade so they can have their picks lol
