This doesn't show there is cap room to sign Barrie next season. - NuckUp
Because it's not next season yet.

Well I did put him on the PK but it would make a bit more sense to play the two shutdown centres ahead of him in PK minutes as long as they are on the team. - manvanfan
Agreed. Face offs were one of the main reasons Horvat had so much ice time last season. With a healthy Beagle and Sutter both being excellent face off performers, there wouldnt be a need to play Horvat on the PK until one of them goes down.
Faceoffs would be the only reason I'd play Horvat on the 1st PP unit this season. If EP and Miller can go over 50% in the circle, Horvat would be a huge boost to the 2nd unit.

Hoping for more luck with less injuries should make us much better for a realistic PO push. The special teams need a marked improvement to do so. TG has to get more out of the team in the 1st period with less chasing the play for me to see us make strides to turn the corner. Very doable if we can play with speed & better zone exits. Wasn’t all that impressed with our passing on break outs & overall skill. Better D should help in that regard. |

I heard we are dumping a bunch of players next season because of cap crunch and needing space to sign Quinn and Petey...lol
Kidding aside would be nice to have developed assets to trade up for Luke. |

Maybe Markstrom depending on what he wants for new contract |

Add Biega & maybe Fantenburg. Leivo & Motte on a show me season & 1 will be gone imo. Thinking Marky gets say 3/5.5m.
Not likely but would like Tanev moved at the TDL regardless of our situation. |

If this is the case then that means that they aren't confident in Demko, which means they should trade him or Dipiettro |

On a way too early look ahead to the 2020 draft...
It looks mostly C/W heavy with some D projected in the 1st. Thinking need then BPA secondary what position do we need most? |

Doubt that happens... If Quinn is thriving (as I expect him to) & we’re in the playoff hunt (as we should be), they’re not going to deal his partner in a sell move. |

I hearya but letting him walk is the alternative unless he shows he can be healthy for a change. Not likely. Say he was moved.
Edler Stecher
Hughes Myers
Benn Rafferty/Fantenburg
I could live with that & call ups when needed. |

Not exactly it’s for insurance & split duties.
Marky is only 29 & Thatch 23 needs support.
Goalie market is slim |

If we keep our 1st, BPA. If we don’t, BPA. If we lose our 1st to TB & trade our 2nd at the TDL, BPA in the 3rd. #BPA4LYFE |

I can't see Canucks giving Tanev another contract. They could trade him at TDL but the offer would need to be for something significant otherwise keep him until the end of the year.
We are use to letting our free agents walk for free |

Stated i’m not fully on board with BPA. Depends on the JB’s list i defer to & not the pundits. What is needed is the top 6 to raise their game this season & the prospects to make waves asap to push for 2020. |

Then you don’t understand what BPA means. It’s based on organizational scouting criteria. Nothing to do with anything else.
When we picked at 10, Boldy was the BPA for my criteria. Podkolzin was the BPA according to the Canucks criteria. BPA isn’t based on a consensus list or pundit opinions... |

Exactly. I mean, Podkolzin and Boldy are both wingers. Pod wasn’t need, he was criteria based preference. |
