Then you don’t understand what BPA means. It’s based on organizational scouting criteria. Nothing to do with anything else.
When we picked at 10, Boldy was the BPA for my criteria. Podkolzin was the BPA according to the Canucks criteria. BPA isn’t based on a consensus list or pundit opinions... - DrChristianTroy
Precisely, BPA for organizational need. |

Well... After we scratched top 6 W off the organizational need list at 10, do you pass on Hoglander at 40 to fill a different larger need? Nope. BPA BPA BPA BPA BP(frank)ingA |

I heard we are dumping a bunch of players next season because of cap crunch and needing space to sign Quinn and Petey...lol
Kidding aside would be nice to have developed assets to trade up for Luke. - NuckUp
Why would we trade up for Luke? |

Team BPA i agree but it’s never disclosed to us. The picks are all we can go by.

Not exactly it’s for insurance & split duties.
Marky is only 29 & Thatch 23 needs support.
Goalie market is slim - Nighthawk
I guess lets see how Demko does this year. I'd be willing to let him be the number one if he doesn't poop the bed. |

I can't see Canucks giving Tanev another contract. They could trade him at TDL but the offer would need to be for something significant otherwise keep him until the end of the year.
We are use to letting our free agents walk for free - VANTEL
If the team is in a play-off hunt at TDL they are adding and keeping. Even if they had the cap room to bring in Tryamkin they don't trade Tanev. Its all about results development not asset retrieval. |

So what you're saying is, another great draft for Benning and you love him and want him to marry into your family. |

Clearly Benning & Co. selected who they believed to be the best player available with each of their selections, or they would have selected at least one D... - 1970vintage
Yup they had Podkolzin ranked higher so he's the definition of a BPA pick. Otherwise, they would have picked RHD Soderstrom. Who Yotes traded up to get him at 11 once they saw Canucks didn't take him. |

Huh? I hated the pick at 10. Loved the pick at 40. & that’s your conclusion? |

Why would we trade up for Luke? - CanuckDon
Why not he's supposed to be faster and bigger then Quinn. Hughs brothers on D would be a whole knew "Sedinery" like experience. |

“His stride is the same as Quinn’s,” James says. “It’s so weird, but it picks up so much speed. It’s crazy. You see him at the goal line [and] he’ll be at the next goal line in no time. The creative part of his game is off the charts. He makes moves that not a lot of players can do.” |

Really, you hate Podz?! clearly the BPA at 10, average out all the draft sites and he would hvae been highest without a doubt. I don't pay attention to too much on here, was mostly joking and remembered you not liking JB. |

He's bigger, not faster. Although give him a year or so I guess. I think he'll be a good player. i'll be waiting to see how he develops before getting too pumped. I hope they miss the playoffs and are in the lotto this year, I agree with many posters on here that this next draft is pretty stacked. |

I mean, I won't mind either way. my prediction has been bubble team in 2019/20 for two years now. I'm not changing now. I think were on the bubble loking in this year though, 90 points and edged out by central teams dominating once again. |

I'd say there odds of making it are about 50/50. They can't afford to have too many things go wrong and make the playoffs. I'd say below average goaltending alone is enough to keep them out. |

I look at it this way. Every off season they bring in 3 or 4 new guys. Folks get all fired up with high expectations. Then only 1 or 2 of the new additions comes close to expectations.
So, out of Miller, Myers, Ferland or Benn, who is going to suck weasal nuts and be the scapegoats for failure by the end of the season? |
