Conservative guess is Pod is top 6 unless he develops more east/west skill & playmaking. Does some of that in his 2yrs in the KHL then real top line potential. Could be a good 3rd wheel & high energy wrecking ball player at the worst.
Hoglander probably more on the finesse & water bug type. Good fit for Bo. - Nighthawk
I see them the other way. Podkolzin is one of the players I had listed as a fit for Bo’s wing. Tenacious north south bull in a china shop. Hoglander is one of the few players I had listed as a potential fit for Pettersson’s wing opposite Brock. Smart, creative, feisty, can finish... IMO if he was a couple inches taller he’d have gone much much earlier. |

Guys who fall aren’t always good value. Shinkaruk and Schroeder were top 10 on lists but started to fall during their draft years.
I’m with DCT, don’t like the Pod pick at #10, but he’s still a solid prospect. Love the Hoglander pick, but I don’t see top line upside in either of them. I’d be pretty happy if both ended up as valuable middle 6 players.
I do believe Boldy has top line upside and was disappointed that he was passed on.
Hopefully Pod makes his doubters look silly like Bo and EP did. - Nucker101
I thought his stock fell because of production in draft year plus KHL tie. Hard to produce being bounced around all those teams.
You are on the right track Podz could surprise by being a fan favorite. The type that can turn the flow of the game with a shift like Steamer and Linden did. |

Was looking for more well rounded line dynamics but your lines suit me fine. Bo needs a finisher imo. A dangerous winger for stretch passes would be nice. |

this. I have read a few prospect cupboard articles recently, and they weren't based on line potential, but individual player potential, and some had Hoglander ahead of Podkolzin entirely. |

Linemates need to be compatible - not necessarily share the same exact style. |

3rd line has to be a depth scoring line to take pressure off of the top 6, and the 4th line should be a shutdown line. |

I am fine with both of these picks and had both going in the 1st round.
So we end up with 2 1st rounders in this draft, nothing wrong with that. |

this
Every successful team in the league has moved away from a 3rd line checking and a 4th line "brute" line. The game is more fast and skilled than ever. Moving away from the old school line mentality and making each line more skilled and able to contribute will only lead to a higher success. |

you are absolutely right. I was hesitant on the podkolzin pick when it was first made, but was ecstatic about the hoglander pick when it was made. Both make sense now, and I am looking forward to camp to see what Hoglander can bring. Kid seems confident that he can play today. |

Or they could go to forums and find it and the others like anyone else did.
Could you be more of a drama queen? - Marwood
Drama queen?
You are the poster boy for drama queen. Every angle.... thread after thread opening up in the forums so you can cry your face off about other posters. Thread after thread in here pouring tears over anything you can spin a b!tchy narrative about. Now all this sniveling about being written off as "not a real fan" because people are bored af with your routine... trip on that lip much?
So now it's all this paranoia that your nemesis has returned and the lie that I was the first to stick up for him? I never said anything about him at all... nothing. I only said the clique was triggered... and I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one that doesnt want to watch you burn the thread down every day all over again. Is it not ironic that you are pointing your finger about drama queens after putting everyone through that poop for 2 years.
You really are a dishonest poster. |
