Is he objective when writing about the flyers or is he a homer. In my experience home town writers who are really popular with the fans are generally homers.
The way he jumped to Hextalls defense gave me that impression.

What you call, "jumping to Hextall's defense", anyone with hockey knowledge would call it setting a guy straight who clearly didn't know what he was talking about. And if he did even a cursory internet search, would have figured that out on his own. He knew writing inflammatory things regarding the Flyers would increase his hits ten fold.

Kudos to him for that.

I only read Leafs, Oilers and Tanner blogs on here. Leafs and Oilers because they’re the two teams that Interest me the most.
And Tanner because he has the most interesting takes, not just something that’s been copy and pasted.
I would never read anything, anywhere just for the sole purpose of criticizing the writing. Could there be a bigger waste of a persons time than that?

If he was a homer like Gargano or a loudmouth windbag like Cataldi (Flyers fans will understand that), our fans wouldn’t be pretty lockstep with the guy.

Philly fans have never hesitated to crucify their own. Doesn’t matter how famous you are. However, if you can display integrity or a hard work ethic, that will win them over every time.

If you actually worked in any kind of analytics field, you would know how foolish a statement that is. Data analytics is a resource, but is only ever as good as the people using it to make real decisions. There's also nothing innately good about being aggressive or taking risks if they're bad decisions. Like, for instance, giving up on players like Strome and Domi for no particular reason.
